i just got my JADAM book today. I was wondering if these plants can be dried and reconstituted later. I have lots of hot peppers left over from last year. My friend has a lot of Jerusalem Artichoke and I was glad to see it in the list.

I still have some of your insecticide and fertilizer left over from last summer and kept in the fridge. Can I use them this year please?

  10. @anonymos5726 on July 16, 2024 at 1:16 pm

Sounds good. I bet it would kill pill bugs, question is, would it hurt the worms? It took me a long time to have any population of worms , but I’m inundated with rolly pollies.

  27. @cazellis7865 on July 16, 2024 at 1:32 pm

    Hi Nate,
This is concerning JWA. I have had a couple of failures due to getting measurements incorrect (I think) I find it difficult when you use imperial and metric measures in the same recipe. Could you choose just one system so we don’t become confused and overwhelmed?
Thanks you are a fountain of growing knowledge.

Hello Ntate, thanks with your detail and simplified video teachings, personally I appreciate it. I read a little on 100 herbs, they did make mention of garlic and apricot tree. You have already answer me with Garlic gloves in this tutorial and thanks again. All I want to know on Apricot is whether I use leaves or I use raw apricots,or I can use both of them. In my area we have little of 100 herbs mentioned in the book, but Cayern powder I can buy, garlic gloves I can buy also,my big concern is on Apricots. Anyway I am planning to plant Cabbage for the first time in when our Summer come to an end,and when Autumn begins.

So do you use the pest prevention spray with the mint & oregano only up until there is an infestation? Or can you use this solution with the cayenne & garlic as a prevention at the lowest concentration?

  34. @samuelcrites4998 on July 16, 2024 at 1:38 pm

Question, I was given some tobacco plants several years ago. I grew them to seed and saved them. Instead of purchasing Jerusalem Artichoke, how would you prepare tobacco leaf as pesticide?

  35. @susanshelit on July 16, 2024 at 1:39 pm

In the Netherlands we never have a shortage of nettles and this is an excellent pesticide against aphids and white fly.

Get some nettles, place them in a bucket with water and let it rot. Add green soap, mix and once filtered you can spray it to plants affected.

Green soap (like my mother used) has been hard to come by so I’m going to use chestnuts because that is what my great-grand-parents used to wash clothes .

Hi Nate, can I use store bought organic cayenne peppers ? I do have garlic from last season . Question #2 can we use any super hot peppers from our garden or does it have to be cayenne peppers ? Thanks my friend 👍❤️🌞

  37. @CEE2802 on July 16, 2024 at 1:39 pm

Caterpillar love my milk thistle and Jerusalem artichoke. Sprayed your recipe two days at night and there is still damage. Should I add something … Repellent oil / tea tree, citronella etc?

You may grow tobacco and Jerusalem artichoke and use those for different potent effect

  43. @danielklee2933 on July 16, 2024 at 1:46 pm

How do you address pollinators when using this? Last year I encountered striped beetle on my pumpkin plants. I was afraid to use an insecticide on them for fear of harming natural pollinators, so I was out there trying to pick them off by hand.

I’m making my own right now with 1 whole red onion, 7 bulbs of garlic, 8 Jalapeño Peppers, and 2, 6 oz Jars of Ghost Pepper emulsion. Is there concern if I mix this with Peppermint Dr B’s and LAB at a diluted rate of 1:20 to start? I’m going to war on behalf of my pepper plants. 🌱

Thank you Nate a thousand times for your informative and top quality videos on vegetable gardening. You have been inspirational for me to start my first kitchen garden.

RE: What is your opinion on utilizing human waste – is it safe and reasonable to do it for a home vegetable garden.

    1) Introduction/Background:

The location i stay is mountainous with nearly extinct layer of leaves. I have searched the forest and under the gum/pine trees but everywhere i find barren and hard soil. I nearly no access to leaves – which you have noted as an excellent source of food for the microbes, and which is a very important ingredient in most of your recipes.

I am able to collect some grass clippings. I do composed regularly kitchen scraps. I am thinking to setup the liquid fertilizers you are proposing on your channel (i am a newbie on your channel and moving quickly through all your lectures).

Another problem i am facing is that animal manure are very expensive here to buy, while I do not have the conditions to raise animals.

    2) Question on Human Waste:

I was introduced by yourself to JADAM and had a chance to scan Youngsang Cho celebrity book "Jadam Organic Farming" and there i read that he proposes Human excreta as a very valuable source for making JADAM fertilizer (in fact more valuable than animal dung). Unfortunately, the chapter on this topic is relatively short and i have major concerns/questions on this matter.

I searched internet and found that most commentators/scholars in the West are very much against this method due to nasty bacterial and long-lasting chemicals in the Septic Tank waste.

I would like, kindly, your opinion/view on this topic and whether there is a reasonable and safe method for a home to process there own waste for vegetable gardening.

    Thank you in advance.
