you know what would be cool? a tissue culture terrarium.

specifically designed to use tissue culture techniques for aesthetic purposes, not propagation. with no soil or anything boring like that.

like a nutrient solution aquarium with tons of terrestrial plants in it or like a tube filled with plant balls.

I think these sterile plants floating in tubes with nutrient solution just look cool af.

or like little self contained plant jars with LEDs that you can put in dark rooms for decoration.

and making it look like interior design of the future 😂

perhaps you could even sell them🤑

What volume range should I be looking at to buy a pipette?

How long do the HEPA filters last on your cabinet?

  9. @FelixRisingOriginal on June 19, 2024 at 10:31 am

Love the sense of mild shame/self recrimination you have over owning not two, but four pressure cookers 🤣

  10. @kaitlindollison8523 on June 19, 2024 at 10:35 am

Can you do a video that is the whole process from start to finish (initiation to acclimating)? I know it would take months to be ready, but it would be interesting to see the progress with date stamps, etc.

  11. @andrewhernandez4968 on June 19, 2024 at 10:35 am

Keep your blue lab in water or storage solution at all times. Submerged just past probe

I’m a home mycologist, started in a carpet room with no SAB or flow hood and yes, I’ve set gloves on fire while culturing more than once, I just don’t use gloves no more, and I don’t have carpet now 🎉

  17. @michaelevan9184 on June 19, 2024 at 10:46 am

you need 70% alcohol to sterilize because that is the proper percentage to effectively lyse the cell wall of bacteria and sterilize a surface area. It has nothing to do with evaporation.

  18. @nativefish on June 19, 2024 at 10:46 am

Can I use petri dishes for culture vs. the plastic containers you use I have boxes of glass petri dishes? I’m wondering if there is enough room in the dishes.

For lights I highly recommend the YouTube channel MIGRO. Shane does Phenomenal work and breaks down all of the finer details for how plants react to light and the photon efficiency as well as the total equipment efficacy.

Enjoying the videos! Curious if you (or anyone else reading this), knows where to get the supplies related to plant cell tech, in Europe? As paying over 100 dollars for shipping is not ideal. Thanks!

  28. @hotdubtime on June 19, 2024 at 10:55 am

I look through your videos and your content really inspires me and everything looks pretty straightforward, but some of my friends keep telling the way you introduce the whole process of TC is "just for fun" and they mainly point out that having a "DIY" laminar cabinet will drastically lower the overall results in TC. I as a person who’s just interested in this sphere, will definitelly have extremely miserable results. Could you please tell if having a "professional" laminar cabinet/autoclave increase the chances? If so how much? Will it require the person to go deeper and deeper into this area to get some visible results? Cause it feels like without having more profound knowledge about this issue, it will waste time and money. I understand that you have really big experience of many years studying and researching and doing TC, but hand on heart will the person "who just started" have sooner results or not, especially having a DIY tools? Thanks)

  36. @brendanjahoda5450 on June 19, 2024 at 11:08 am

Could you use a UV sterilizer? One designed for phones and toothbrushes and stuff?

  37. @pushthemule on June 19, 2024 at 11:09 am

In the cultivation of mushrooms, the community successfully sterilizes @ 12psi for 45 minutes for agar. I’m guessing it would also work here.

    I’m loving your channel, thanks.
It would be good to hear what your lab’s “business model” is.
How do you go about choosing plants to propagate and selling them commercially?
I assume that this isn’t just a serious hobby!

  41. @mattbrigner4815 on June 19, 2024 at 11:12 am

If you are taking a tissue culture from a plant and your placing it in a soy protein that was genetically modified, does that make the plant genetically modified as well when the new plants are planted.
I know that’s a stupid question but I don’t believe in stupid questions so there you go..

  42. @tradward on June 19, 2024 at 11:12 am

  44. @Scooby-Snacks on June 19, 2024 at 11:13 am

What is the largest size glass container Theoretically a tissue culture plant can be kept in? Is there limitations to size? Do you think a one gallon jar would be considered unreasonable? I want the plant to be able to get 8"-10" tall, That way I don’t have to mess with them as much…

  45. @carmenv.6021 on June 19, 2024 at 11:14 am

I couldn’t find in your videos what kind of paper you use to make the micropropagation in the sterile cabinet. do you use normal kitchen paper or another kind? do you sterilize the paper in the autoclave? how is it done? thank you very much for your videos and your work!

  46. @rhb30001 on June 19, 2024 at 11:16 am

I thought pressure cooking psi determines where you live? You state 15 psi but what state do you live in?

3:21 English isn’t my native language, and I didn’t get what she said about ‘landlord’ or something like that. Probably, is just a joke (I noticed her humor sense hehe), but I’m curious about this. Can someone explain it to me?

  49. @YouTube_can_ESAD on June 19, 2024 at 11:20 am

    You killed me “@hello gamers!”😂. I feel exposed! 🤣

  50. @GregDuhon on June 19, 2024 at 11:20 am

Do you have any recommendations on a specific desk to buy? The only one I have right now is from Ikea and it has grooves on it which makes it impossible to sterilize.
