Yeah when they are in veg they will produce new roots pretty fast just cover whatever excess you think you have to have the start of the stem and plant coming right out the soil I’ve never worried or thought stretching in early stage of life was a bad thing and something I’ve never worried about. But this day and age seems everyone’s focused on the smallest aspects of everything and give advice. Some things are truly helpful and small things beginners don’t really know this isn’t the thing that’s gonna make a huge difference but I’ve been watching all kinds of videos talking about this issue. Let it stretch and start train as early as you can I’ve got some plants that are maybe a foot or taller maybe and have been training them probably like 3 months old and have many shoots and isn’t that tall. While many will ask how can you have a plant yhstd old and still only be around a foot

Is it normal for the leaves to droop after backfilling. Plants sprouted on the 2nd or 5 days ago. Have looked beautiful outside the stretching. Light is optic led 150gmax hung and dimmed as website reccomends, now that is lol. Bottom soil in not dry . 76 degrees with 50% humidity

Best part is that the buried stem will start shooting roots in every direction giving the plant a nice boost of nutrients early on. Great idea, mate.

I started with pods they stretched a little bit but I planned on doing the exact same thing when I transfer to soil

That’s how I grew all of mine. The stock will route on its own just like tomatoes if you get out your jewellers loop and look at the stock under the dirt leaves you’ll see little hairs that salad roots by itself

I found out that adding more soil too early in the seedling’s life is not a good idea. I lost a bunch of stretched seedlings to rot because I filled up with the soil in the first few days, causing the seedlings to simply stop growing and rot. Best to wait a couple of weeks or so before doing this.

This works, also with just more dirt.

Wet soil, plant seed 1/4"deep, crown up, water with 1 tablespoon of water a day till first saw leaves get bout 1/2"wide each then 2 spoonfuls till 2nd set of leaves get bout 1/2"wide each. Use t5 floresent lights 10" above plants. I usually use plastic dome to grow in with vents closed enough to steam the top up alittle. Never hav any streachin. Almost all streachin caused from over watering!!
