This is not machine or commercial cannabis trimming. Learn how to hand trim your cannabis harvest like a pro.

“If you’re looking for the utmost quality, you need to take time in your trimming process.”

Every time you touch your flowers once they’ve dried, you degrade them a little bit, so it’s best to use trimming and handling techniques that minimize the trichome damage.

Green Flower veteran cultivator Derek Gilman demonstrates proper handling and trimming technique – what to clip and where – and how to know when you’re done
.
He also shares his preferred choice of tools perfected over many years of growing, handling trimming and curing premium cannabis.

  6. ModaMontArt on May 14, 2022 at 12:00 am

I have tried this process in the past but the big problem i had is when the cut branches dry out for a few days the smallest leaves curl up too much and almost make it impossible to trim off ! I don’t know how you did it so easily in my experience it not only took a lot longer but way too much extra work. I ll never do it again , Peace !

I’ve been commercial trimming for three years. I’ve tried so many methods but am trying to find the best way for me to maintain a good quality trim job while having to do large quantities….

My uncle gave me a clipping off of a plant, and I had no idea what I was supposed to do with it. I usually buy nuggets in bags, you see. So now I think I understand! Give it a careful clipping and then a serious smoking

I need to know if rolling the cannabis flower before trimming is a good way of trimming?

  12. chris2pher44 on May 14, 2022 at 12:07 am

Raise your hand if you hate trimming.

When I trim I’m trying to produce a supermodel. I could trim a hour on a flower and still not be happy with it. It drives me nuts.

  32. GrowDaddyTV on May 14, 2022 at 12:31 am

Nice video! Trimming takes so long and I hand-trim everything too. When I’m harvesting, I take off the fan leaves right away, and I’ve trimmed the sugar leaves both before and after the drying / hanging. I’d say wet trimming is easier and better. And of course all that trim (after the fan leaves are gone) are great for making for bubble hash and edibles. 🙂 I did a harvest video lately but in this one, I trimmed only the fan leaves, then hung it all to dry. Maybe I was just exhausted because I had 3 plants to take down and I had my arm in a sling LOL.

  38. glenn kennedy on May 14, 2022 at 12:36 am

Is the trim useful for anything ?

  39. Only Truth on May 14, 2022 at 12:38 am

So much of trimming is personal preference. One of the major benefits of homegrown is being able to tailor the grow to your preferences.

  40. Muh Democracy on May 14, 2022 at 12:40 am

His speech is so gentle. It’s like the Mr. Rodgers of pot lol

  41. Cheri Taylor on May 14, 2022 at 12:40 am

40 year grower. Best hand trimmer for bugs is Detroit supercut 22 barber shear. Plus blades are changable. Steel blade or stainless. Super sharp and narrow too for hard to reach places.

  42. Kam on May 14, 2022 at 12:40 am

You should go over if you have seeds because a lot of outdoor 80% of the time has seeds( Morley city growers) lots of newbies accidentally grow males
