Inside Cannabis Culture 461 Church Street Toronto

POT TV – Prince and princess of pot are expanding their dispensary empire, whether it’s legal or not. Jodie Emery struts through the hazy hallway of Cannabis Culture’s flagship Toronto store, through a 15-person deep checkout line, and then past the extracts, pre-rolled joints and display jars of bud into the lounge area where a group of pot enthusiasts is sparking up.

It is just after noon on a Wednesday.

The 32-year-old Cannabis Culture owner makes several attempts to call her husband, Marc, a famous marijuana legalization advocate, to wake him up. The Prince of Pot likes to sleep in, she explains, because he works past midnight, which is closing time at his shop in Toronto’s gay village downtown.

Marc emerges half an hour later. He joins employees behind the counter to recommend strains and weigh portions for the rapidly growing lunchtime rush. Marc is focused on the Toronto flagship locale he owns, while Jodie oversees the franchising and most other aspects of the business.

“This is what legalization looks like,” Marc said. “That’s exactly what we want to present to the government: You can go and do your rules and your thing and we’re going to do our thing.”

Emery is the Godfather of Cannabis Culture, both the retail store and the subculture. His time is coming.

Legalization should look like plants in every back yard, not the creation of yet another "industry" to create some kind of weed oligarch.

You should have a separate smelling jar and not stick your face in the product.  Why would I want to buy weed that 11 people have stuck there faces in ?

if a bar has to practice smart serve then why are your employees not doing the same? I’ve been to your church location and on Friday and Saturday nights it’s packed with intoxicated college kids who can barley stand up. yet your shop still sells to them. I’m all for your business and will continue to support CC. just look after your customers, maybe hire a door man give your employees some smart serve training.

Cannabis culture was shut down because the locals of the "gaybourhood’ said it attracted too many heterosexual and they felt oppressed.
They also started a petition after a fight ensued between a gay dude an a straight dude.
The straight dude punched a gay guy in the face who slapped the straight guys ass trying to flirt with the straight guy.
The straight guy snapped, as would I, and the gay guy literally asked him " if you didn’t want some man meat why you on church honey" my boy replied " I’m getting my weed faggot" and they called each other out in the street, where a fight ensued.
But because it was a straight guy against a gay guy discrimination suits were filed against the straight guy and mark Emery was raided two days later.
Those pieces of shit get away with everything from sexual to physical assult just cause they suck a dick of lick a snatch but they can’t catch a punch in the face for it?
Fuck them and fuck church street and the debauchery that goes in on church street.
