I quit a month ago after 20 year daily use. My resting heart rate was around 60 bpm. It’s been a month and my resting heart rate is 10 to 15 bpm higher than it was previously. It still hasn’t come back down yet. And I exercise regularly I’m in my mid-40s. It’s no joke. It hijacks your natural cannabinoid system. It takes time for your sleep to regulate naturally. And you have extremely vivid dreams.

Give me a break. Smoking weed doesn’t cause a higher cance for heart attacks. Stop the propaganda.

so much BS, Marjiuana is not harmful… it does MORE GOOD THAN HARM…

so let’s say you have a "eating disorder" that makes them feel sick by the sight of food …. let that person smoke a J and they will be looking for FOOD, just propaganda, so i guess with this study we should BAN ALL CIGARETTES AND BEER.

It is awful funny ,that the book I have of plants and uses of the native American Indian. Native American indian used marijuana as problems of the heart and circulatory system and blood flow.

I vape cannabis flower that I grow organically. No chemicals just plant matter warmed up to create a steam.

  22. @verse2304 on May 22, 2024 at 11:28 am

Corporate news prioritizes ratings over facts. CBS segment on ‘Marijuana linked to heart attack and stroke risks’ lacks evidence. They use ‘marijuana’ instead of cannabis, pushing a narrative.

  23. @jamiezenichi1017 on May 22, 2024 at 11:28 am

It seems the dude is blue is asking for himself; is cannabis okay for a recreational user 30 or 40 years of age? Are there benefits to smoking cannabis? Yes, you get high and have a good time.

  24. @UpcomingJedi on May 22, 2024 at 11:28 am

HERE it comes! Another ‘study’ to backup the prohibitionists belief when using religion isnt working as people have realised god isnt going to send them to hell because neither god or hell actually exist.

  25. @theovillella1764 on May 22, 2024 at 11:29 am

It’s advisable to critically evaluate the studies, consider their methodology, sample size, and potential biases before drawing conclusions. If you have specific studies in mind, I can assist you further in locating them or providing more information about their findings. Smoking results in the inhalation of Carbon Monoxide. Also carefully consider the language (unprofessional in my opinion) "linked" and "associated with". At best this means they found a correlation, but not a direct link, aka a CAUSE. If this study was based or relied upon self reporting it is highly likely to be unreliable and therefore unworthy of and respectable broadcaster’s attention. It is far more speculation for attention grabbing purposes. Keep in mind news broadcasts are designed to gain your attention so they can market someone’s goods or services, often with an intended bias.

  26. @Dan0948 on May 22, 2024 at 11:30 am

In most states cannabis concentrates are tested to make sure they are free of any additives

  27. @nonya.bizness on May 22, 2024 at 11:30 am

    from their website:
Using survey data they obtained from the CDC, the heart assn. study took the self-reported answers from random people for the number of days they used cannabis over the past 30 days, and how many had ever had heart problems. then the results for regular weed smokers were compared to heart problems in people who had never smoked tobacco or used e-cigarettes.

Absolutely complete BS. Make alcohol illegal

  38. @j.t.8685 on May 22, 2024 at 11:41 am

Starting to believe there’s truth to this.
A few days ago, I took two Breez sativa tablets, and my heart eventually began to beat eratically, and it began pounding a few times. Blood pressure was up so high that I could feel the pulse in my head/back of my legs. One pupil was dilated big time while the other wasn’t. I’m not overweight, either. I didn’t call an ambulance, but I had the number in my phone ready to dial.
The next day, I took another tablet to see if it was the cause, and my heart began to feel twitchy again. It felt like nerves firing in my chest that affected my heartbeat. There’s also been a weird sensation in my sinus every time I’ve gotten high lately.

  39. @killjoy1056 on May 22, 2024 at 11:44 am

Of course the habitual weed smoker will choose not to believe this even though they have no background in biology, health, heart, or medicine. The only background they have is smoking. Weed raises your blood pressure and heart rate immensely. Anything that constantly raises and lowers your heart rate will have negative effects on your heart. Youre choosing not to believe it because you dont want it to be true. Ignoring the facts isnt going to make it go away.

600,000 people died from heart disease in the United States every year.
There are more complicated factors to heart disease and strokes than just cannabis use

  44. @lilithanarchy1228 on May 22, 2024 at 11:55 am

Honestly I was naive but I believe it now I was having problems with my heart I stopped smoking for a few weeks and didn’t have heart issues as soon as I started smoking again the heart problems came back I didn’t believe this at first but I now think there’s definitely some truth to this going to try and stop smoking

  45. @nonuser1532 on May 22, 2024 at 11:56 am

  47. @jontomas2271 on May 22, 2024 at 11:58 am

There are more than 35,000 research references in the popular medical journal, PubMed. Here’s another one: Charleston, SC: Marijuana smoking is not associated with an elevated risk of coronary artery disease (CAD aka heart disease) in young to middle age adults, according to data published in the journal PLOS One.

A team of investigators affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina and the University of Texas assessed the relationship between CAD and self-reported cannabis use in 1,420 subjects. Participants in the study were all between the ages of 18 and 50, had experienced chest pain, and underwent a coronary CT angiography.

Researchers reported that subjects with a history of cannabis use were less likely to show evidence of CAD as compared to subjects with no cannabis exposure.

There are so many things wrong with this study 🤦🏻‍♀️ you can’t take it seriously. Also, professional journalism would have given us a link to read the study for ourselves.

  49. @RecallTheUSA on May 22, 2024 at 11:59 am

The reason why this is being put out there is because there will be a higher tax on legal sales of cannabis ! Watch and seee .
