Only problem is that PLA for example has little pores and water leaks through it. That is how I got my wardrobe bending due to the water leaking out. Beware people as this may work on some other surface but not wood or plywood.

  2. Will Swift on January 9, 2023 at 10:37 am

can you make an stl file with a much bigger water tank?

  3. Bima Zivanovic on January 9, 2023 at 10:38 am

Didn’t know you were supposed to water the tray🤷‍♂️. Mom always taught me that this is for excess water to escape

  4. Arty Mars on January 9, 2023 at 10:40 am

OMG THE DOUBLE WINDOW POTS ARE SO COOOOOOOLLLLL 🤭😭❤️🥺❤️😭

  5. Archetype on January 9, 2023 at 10:40 am

You realise PLA is HIGHLY biodegradable… You soak it in salty water for a few days and it will begin dissolving, same stuff biodegradable airsoft BB’s are made from. Not a great material for gardening. I am not watching this video because i honestly think this is a stupid use of a 3D printer. Buy yourself some clay if you want to make flower pots…

Could you explain the planter on 0:16 of the video? Looks really cool

  9. ANTI-CONFEDERATE on January 9, 2023 at 10:44 am

Let the soil dry as much as you can get away with before refilling the sips containers for healthy roots.

  10. Enoch Art on January 9, 2023 at 10:45 am

What filament is used for items that needs to hold water like this?

  11. Deanna Chung on January 9, 2023 at 10:46 am

I LOVE this video!!! I am excited to start trying everything soon. Just had a question – where did you get your LED light strip? Do you have a brand you love? Thanks!!

  12. Babymilo on January 9, 2023 at 10:47 am

Doesn’t water cause bacterias and pathogens to grow in 3d printed materials?

  13. james dixon on January 9, 2023 at 10:47 am

Have you had plants die when pinned between the inner window and the storm window? There are plants that won’t get enough CO2 in there between watering.

  14. Poyo Marco on January 9, 2023 at 10:47 am

The video is really great but the sounds like “asmr” are…

Hi, it’s great. I would like to know about the production of pots and how I can have a machine to make pots …

  19. old gregg on January 9, 2023 at 10:53 am

Honestly the best 3d printing video I’ve watched. Practical and useful prints all

  20. Michael Fulton on January 9, 2023 at 10:53 am

    Escape root

  21. Kevin Tu on January 9, 2023 at 10:56 am

To those who are actually doing this, If you make the water reservoir transparent or opaque enough where light can still travel through. You will run into algae more often. This will reduce the gas exchange within your medium and overall affect the quality of your harvest.

  22. Quintin Larson on January 9, 2023 at 10:56 am

My prints don’t hold water well, I thought it was hopeless but I guess it can be done!

  23. radiowavz on January 9, 2023 at 11:01 am

Thank you for this great insightful presentation. Keep up your good work!

  25. Mar di Sal on January 9, 2023 at 11:04 am

What material are the planters from? I guess it is all PETG?

  26. JohnnyOttosson85 on January 9, 2023 at 11:04 am

    Yes, this is awesome!

  27. Harry on January 9, 2023 at 11:04 am

So be carefull about which plants you put in which medium with standing water etc. There is certain plants eg aroids that really don’t like their roots to be wet all the time.
It might also create an anaerobic environment which actually stimulates rootrot.
Plants can handle quite some water as long as there is airation/airflow through the medium.
But then still, with plants it’s usually safer to under water rather than to overwater!
With self watering planters look up semi hydro which use substrates like ponz leca or perlite for airation and water holding capabilities, but be mindfull that PH of your substrate is also a crucial variable for your plants.

Be carfull of the plant rabit hole

  28. Ryan Badeau on January 9, 2023 at 11:07 am

This needs to be said again, do not use 3D prints with anything food related unless you use food safe filament. Most filaments are not food safe.

  29. Mobin92 on January 9, 2023 at 11:07 am

Sadly the filaments are quite expensive. So even little projects get pricey quickly.

  30. JohSun FPV on January 9, 2023 at 11:10 am

    Is PLA food safe?

Some people are actually trying to reduce the amount of plastic pollution in the world….

  36. hunn20004 on January 9, 2023 at 11:16 am

Don’t eat homegrown avocados. They all mostly taste awful. Thousands of trees had to be grown for the 4 we currently have that taste fine.

  37. Cem Bora on January 9, 2023 at 11:18 am

quick tip: Don’t use these moisture sensors. They are shit

  38. Said Abdullahi on January 9, 2023 at 11:21 am

Anyone know how I can 3D print that vertical pot @ 0:13 ?

  39. Николай Алексеев on January 9, 2023 at 11:22 am

    super

  40. Tomislav Kukić on January 9, 2023 at 11:22 am

    So many fun projects. Thanks.

  41. Ayjrin on January 9, 2023 at 11:23 am

fun fact: the avocado trees you grow will probably end up being just decorative since all store avocados are grafted and cant be grown from seed. if it does perchance grow fruit, it will almost certainly taste bad or bland.

  42. Yuliya Cher on January 9, 2023 at 11:27 am

    Thank you 😊

  43. Bryan Cerrati on January 9, 2023 at 11:27 am

do you have to buy water resistant filament or will pla be fine

  47. archmon on January 9, 2023 at 11:30 am

Guessing the creator doesn’t know Avocado’s are not true to seed(The seed in your ex. hos avocado will not grow a hos avocado, to get a hos avocado, you have to graft a hos avocado onto the starter).

  48. Jan Kärema on January 9, 2023 at 11:31 am
