More Frequent Watering for Cannabis Plants

More Frequent Watering for Cannabis Plants

Whether you grow in soil, coco coir, or some other grow media, or if you water with water alone or a nutrient mix.

The case for more frequent watering at smaller doses per watering.

Turns out as of now. Studies show that a 40% dry back adds to trichome production…. definitely don’t let the microbes die.

  7. @jabrownie22 on December 12, 2023 at 2:27 am

It really depends upon the poise of your soil, the more robust facultative anarobes and airobes populations that you have the greater your plants ability to handle the swings. Dry and hot is oxidative or acidification, wet and low air flow is alkaline or reductive or anerobic bacteria either extreme will lock out nutrients bc of the metabolic process’ of the microbes found in said environment

What about drainage ? When does that happen… i normally feed to drain so if i feed twice a day do i feed the second time to drain ?

  9. @ld90210 on December 12, 2023 at 2:28 am

Sorry buddy got nothing better to do than to sit around my plants and water every 30 minutes come on

  10. @CapoFluSH on December 12, 2023 at 2:33 am

I’ve been following this for the past 3yrs to great success in Outdoor grows. I couldn’t think of doing it any other way!

  11. @imothy on December 12, 2023 at 2:33 am

what about root rot and fungus gnats and things that also thrive on moisture, pests, mildew etc..? What about dry spots in the soil? Why rely on a machine to pump the water, when in nature water comes sporadically, forcing plants to store and release energy at different intervals strengthening cell walls and pacing growth cycles and over achieving long term goals? I’ve always let my plants fully dry out, Leaves will usually give you a 24hour warning sign before you do any irreversible damage. Don’t overwork yourself, take a day off if you want.

What if you stay I the pacific where it’s mostly red dirt. Almost like clay.

  14. @diamondsky3530 on December 12, 2023 at 2:36 am

Automatic watering is great for synthetics as your able to mix pre batches and be fine but if your using a nutrient line like nectar for the gods which is 16parts and can’t be premixed bc it’s organic and natural products unless you make a batch in the morning and have the time to hand water 12 times a day this is irrelevant information about watering. I currently use 2 qrts every other day at 2000ppm and my ppms drop to 6-650 every other day in the soil. Two qrts in 5 & 7 gal seems perfect and my plants never get dry or hydrophobic

I am watering every day about 2dcl and noticed how roots are staying high. Just dig 2cm with finger on top and i can see roots. I like this. Better oxygenation and keeping moist constant.

Food for thought for soil growers — observe the plants’ leaves instead of watering on a prescribed or regimented schedule “every few hours” or “every few few days.”

They tell you when they’re thirsty. Watch the leaves. When the plants show me they’re ready for watering, the leaves begin to wilt instead of praying. So when they wilt, they will get watered/fed. One to two hours later, the plants show me they are satisfied and happy because the leaves will be back to erect position — praying to the light.

This sounds similar to my,"just enough, just in time " method that I use for my greenhouse. I find that it helps boost potency early, and requires less feeding later on in flowering stages. 😊 great information…thanks

I don’t know everybody that Waters everyday has no nodes and if you’re going to water every day it sounds like a full-time job

  30. @okietradez8969 on December 12, 2023 at 2:59 am

this is the secret and how you manage dry backs vs ec bcuz you can stack nutrients in tight root zones for quick and constant uptake of nutrients which maxes out flavor and potency all learned from jungle boys but this video gets you in the right direction for sure

I want to know who talked to a plant and asked it when it drank water.

Makes sense, it doesn’t rain once for 20 min every two days.

  35. @StingraySativaCo on December 12, 2023 at 3:05 am

Lmao! Dry farming for the win. Build a proper soil bed and let the rain water and never waste money and time watering again!

  36. @WaterproofSoap on December 12, 2023 at 3:06 am

30 yards from a stream, 6 feet above crest level, in quality native soil….
…..I never water…..the tap roots make it to the water table, and she takes what she wants.

  37. @LeslieKailVillarreal on December 12, 2023 at 3:06 am

So much conflicting info for new growers out there! I grow outdoors in containers and was just told, "Don’t over water, just every 4 days are fine, fill to overflow, then leave it till you can pick the pot up and feel its bone dry then soak it again!" Now this! Uggh! Who’s right who’s not ?

  45. @kiyomiheinrich2147 on December 12, 2023 at 3:11 am

Waste of water…in ground can go days w out water…in pots go by weight.. know your plants.look for first signs of thirst..

  46. @Mudnuri on December 12, 2023 at 3:12 am

I found using 15 gallon fabric pots with 75/25 mix of ocean forest/ happy frog, then mix that with 25% perlite.
Water every day 1-3 gallons per day. After 30 days add a tablespoon of fish emulsion per gallon once a week. Super easy.
Love the video and the info!
