  2. @Infinity0205 on January 25, 2024 at 4:22 am

Looking forward for an OLED Display to add-in later.
    That would be pretty cool.

  3. @antivanti on January 25, 2024 at 4:24 am

I would really like to get one… Too bad I’ve never had a need for a laptop and don’t forsee ever having need for anything beyond that really old Lenovo I got for free 🤷

Is it just me or has crab rave become some sort of standard for testing speakers? 😂

if he invested his own money in it its not hard to understand why he talk the product up Linus really became the villan corrupt

  9. @armanke13 on January 25, 2024 at 4:32 am

Who is this old linus.. he looks wise

  10. @ericiven7168 on January 25, 2024 at 4:33 am

Jake was a great presenter in this format, really confident, great vid.

  11. @joelmurdoch on January 25, 2024 at 4:35 am

As if getting 3 of your own employees to review your product makes it less biased.. Just sayin

  12. @antonisautos8704 on January 25, 2024 at 4:35 am

Despite comments on here bashing the product or the idea…

This laptop stands to change the laptop landscape. Others have tried to do swappable gpus but they were never this easy to change. They also were consistent either.

What this thing represents and how it can push the market toward modularity and repairable machines is what we need. Even if people think it isnt. This is good for your grandmother who wants to browse the web, or your younger brother who wants to game on it in the car ride to your family vacation.

It gives the consumer back power, power to fix what you own, own what you buy and be more sustainable while doing it.

  13. @BigSchu22 on January 25, 2024 at 4:35 am

MXM cards were great… it’s how I kept my old Sager laptop relevant well past it’s prime until the motherboard died. Glad to see we have even more modularity!

  14. @drewcipher896 on January 25, 2024 at 4:35 am

I like it when they do this kind of format, multiple hosts and all.

  15. @ilikewaffles3689 on January 25, 2024 at 4:36 am

I would buy this just to support their pro-consumer philosophy but $1,400 is insane.

  16. @Rikorage on January 25, 2024 at 4:36 am

The size of that power brick is really impressive for 180 watts. I’ve seen 65 w chargers that size.

  17. @ThAlEdison on January 25, 2024 at 4:38 am

    no buttons on trackpad=garbage

  18. @acidxburn125 on January 25, 2024 at 4:39 am

There is no way this infinitely upgradeable !! sure you could theoretically upgrade 1 or 2 gens. But what happens when the system bus/chipset/PCIE/USB changes (Thanks to intel/NVIDIA and eventually even AMD) It would be gimped, and that’s not frameworks fault. But please don’t say it is infinitely upgradeable. This is one of the main reasons linus` credibility has taken a nose dive recently, and this doesn’t help, even getting your paid shills (sorry employees) to review it doesn’t help.

  19. @808animescoob9 on January 25, 2024 at 4:39 am

I don’t know if this is even possible. But there seems to be thermal headroom in the Framework Laptop for more performance. That is if there is power enough for that. Is there a larger power brick in the works or is there enough power in the included power brick for more performance due to the thermal headroom? Just curious. I will be looking for a laptop in the future. A year out most likely. Since I already dumped money into a desktop PC lol. The FrameWork is definitely on my radar.

  20. @ageekdude7722 on January 25, 2024 at 4:40 am

The only thing holding me back from buying a framework is the lack of a touchscreen, which is a must for me since I usually take notes on my laptop. Even a good (not too janky) community solution would work for me, but for now, I’m sticking with my lenovo.

  21. @holzwurm_hd7029 on January 25, 2024 at 4:40 am

Will there be a external GPU enclosure for the GPU Module?

  22. @joncollier1934 on January 25, 2024 at 4:41 am

  23. @THCspitzkohl on January 25, 2024 at 4:41 am

Meanwhile Xiaomi with that 280 Watts Charging Brick for a Fogging CELL PHONE

  24. @Raja995mh33 on January 25, 2024 at 4:42 am

It’s quite a move to say that FrameWork has a "history" that proves they keep their promises. I mean they’re around for how long? 3-4 years? That’s pretty much nothing to argue about they keep promises

  25. @hgpot on January 25, 2024 at 4:42 am

I can’t believe it, they didn’t test putting it in the backpack. Inquiring minds need to know…can it fit? With or without GPU?

  26. @mbsfaridi on January 25, 2024 at 4:42 am

Only criticism I think is the thin chassis restricting its cooling capacity.

  27. @supersaiyan2 on January 25, 2024 at 4:44 am

Its way too chunky though, and its hella expensive too. Id rather just buy a regular laptop

  28. @leorimolo on January 25, 2024 at 4:44 am

I’m not buying a framework until they make an aluminum or any type of metal chassis.

  29. @Fender178 on January 25, 2024 at 4:47 am

I almost bought a Framework 16 but I wanted 32gb of RAM but it would have required me to purchase the highest tier of Framework 16 laptops. Also you will need a USB C charger that is capable of 240W because when gaming while plugged in the battery will still drain when using the GPU module. Also with the modules the weren’t enough IO for my liking so this is when I purchased my Origin Laptop. Also 8GB of vRAM is going to hurt the Framework 16 as a gaming laptop so let’s hope that they can get more GPU modules based on higher end AMD Laptop chips that they are planning on releasing sometime this year. Like the 7800m for example. Also the GPU module can be used as an EGPU.

  30. @philipxxxdj on January 25, 2024 at 4:48 am

that’s a bad idea the gpu is not the only thing you would have to replace now we have ddr5 ram instead of ddr4 all the parts would have to be replaced because all hardware becomes outdated over time so it’s easier and better to buy a new laptop then you have 2 pc’s or can get money back from the sale of your old PC and seriously if you have a PC with the latest graphics card you won’t need a new PC for 5-7 years and by then the PC would be worn out it would be better to buy a new one with new hardware the framework is way to expensive other brands offer good deals sales and on a year older laptop the framework is a lose lose situation

  31. @johnoconnor4409 on January 25, 2024 at 4:53 am

    Ethics

  32. @ObsidianShadowHawk on January 25, 2024 at 4:55 am

But will it fit in the backpack with the GPU installed??

  33. @harkigaming7083 on January 25, 2024 at 4:56 am

You could just use USB C to DP cables

  34. @kyokazuto on January 25, 2024 at 4:58 am

Now imagine if these things had coreboot

  35. @seablake4116 on January 25, 2024 at 4:59 am

When’s the framework handheld coming 😂

  36. @aridoks on January 25, 2024 at 5:01 am

But will third parties make parts that are specifically compatible with this thing

  37. @thestorminmormin1442 on January 25, 2024 at 5:02 am

While it’s a really cool product I don’t see the point of its existence over a desktop computer. Most work a computer can be done with a solid light laptop like the Framework 13, while heavier loads are just objectively handled better on a desktop.

  38. @bastareims5737 on January 25, 2024 at 5:06 am

i like the "flipping review style" with more LTT employees, but if Jake and Linus did it alone, it would be good enough.

  39. @albertusvanlubeeck9161 on January 25, 2024 at 5:07 am

I’m not deterred by the price of the Framework laptop because its repairability represents a long-term investment. Opting for cheaper, less repairable devices often leads to higher expenses in the long run, either through the need for frequent replacements or costly repairs by the manufacturer. The Framework’s markup is justified by its design, which allows for easier and potentially cheaper self-repairs and upgrades. This approach not only saves money over time but also aligns with sustainable and responsible tech consumption.

  40. @noah998 on January 25, 2024 at 5:08 am

    The laptop still looks goofy

  41. @Kirsty_McKay on January 25, 2024 at 5:08 am

Loving the varied content from LTT lately.

  44. @3nertia on January 25, 2024 at 5:13 am

"Invested my own money in this company", you mean your own company’s money? Or do you, for some reason, make more than everyone else at your company, Linus?

  45. @minekey29348 on January 25, 2024 at 5:13 am

I’m sorry but you should not be reviewing this at all given your bosses ties. And putting thermal pads in to fix keyboard flex? That should be a dealbreaker right there. Quality should at least match non-modular machines, not put it on the user to fix. I can see why all the other reviews are like 5/10, but ya’ll still seem to be homer simpson sayin "its just a little dirty, its still good, its still good!"

  46. @p05_ on January 25, 2024 at 5:14 am

This video actually gave me a great suggest for fixing my ol laptop. So thanks for that! keyboard is back to how it used to feel before I messed it up haha!

  47. @ENGAM on January 25, 2024 at 5:15 am

I cant work without a numpad. Basically full keyboard or its no deal.

  48. @JimIBobIJones on January 25, 2024 at 5:15 am

Their "modules" are just USB dongles that fit into the case. Nowhere near as efficient as having connectors on the motherboard.

Also their thermal performance is disappointing to see. If their thermal headroom is that mediocre, then being able to replace the GPU module becomes pretty meaningless…

  49. @3nertia on January 25, 2024 at 5:18 am

Why would a company (Framework) make a laptop for nerds and then waste money including a tool they know we’re already likely to own? Does it come with free stickers too? :/

  50. @WindFireAllThatKindOfThing on January 25, 2024 at 5:19 am

I travel and work in dirty places. Like the back of armored vehicles in the kinda places where you don’t shop for a house. And I must, repeat, must…have a laptop to do my work…even though Uncle Sam won’t buy me one, it’s de facto that I must pack one. Consequently, I bork a laptop every year or two and have to replace it.
This could save me FAR more money in the long run for a 20% up front premium to go modular.
