Nutrients Basics – Cannabis Growing – Lex’s Nutes Philosophy

Time to discuss Nutrients and additives on Lex’s World. ALL LINKS IN THIS DESCRIPTION! I will tell you my nutrient philosophy, including what I think about all-natural (raw organic) growing, nutrient-heavy growing, the impacts of nutrients on outdoor vs. indoor plants as well as what I think of additives like Molasses and root solutions.

root boosters such as Clonex actually helps a lot, no matter how good technique you have this will make it faster like 3 times at least, give it a try

Hey, Lex. Great info! Question here: could you provide some sources on the molasses bit for thc production? Interesting idea, just curious.

    Current grow nutes
    Gh micro
    Gh veg
    Gh bloom
Gh diamond nectar ( humic acid )
    Hydroguard
    Great white

I got 6.. 8 if I add ph up and down

Though you don’t need humic acid it helps a lot, as does silica

Some time ago now I was using up to 10 bottles some wks but like most of us we turn to what’s best for us.I would still recommend a good root stim though, and its a must for Auto’s.Advanced nutrients beats 95% of the nutes on the shelf, and that is a fact and not just my opinion, lol.I would always recommend making yourself a Tea,and that’s when I use my Molasses as it feeds the Microbes along with several micro nutrients for the plant.I think the Microbes are a must for any garden. The Extreme range claim the world record holding veg growes use it but there’s a number of them that do different things like one that creates a symbiotic relationships with the other plantsthey’ll share food and help with health.Cant remember the last time I saw a seedling go bad, damping off, rotting or pythium, the microbes are great for seed and seedling dusting or drenching.KNF Style Gardening is becoming very big nowadays and there’s a number of things we can all benefit from, its most interesting. There’s lots of items here on YT but the channel Chris Trump does is about the most extensive. He teaches you how to collect you own soil microbes along with Lab and many more.Korean Natural Farming is a must for any keen grower.

I would say you need both Epsom salt and hydrated lime to address any kind of deficiencies concerning calcium magnesium and Sulphur.

  12. judotapout on May 31, 2022 at 9:43 pm

So Lex I use so hum soil. They say that it’s got everything for the whole life cycle of the plant in it. Have you had any experience with these super soils? And even though I’m using a super soil should I still be adding some other nutrients on top? I am a bilateral amputee so I’m missing both my legs and I’m trying to make growing my medicine as simple as possible. It’s hard to carry water and different things when you’re in a wheelchair so any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I think I’m going to get a self watering system. I just need to figure out since I use a super soil do I really need to use anything else along with it to get a quality medicine for my pain

Have you ever used seaweed fertilizers? Bless

  14. Mark Novak on May 31, 2022 at 9:49 pm

40 years of using chook shit, in more recent times I add a little blood and bone, and the secret ingredient, urine. Treat yourself for metal poisoning with EDTA and every metal found in the human body winds up in your urine. Sounds gross and it’s not what I’d recommend if your grow room is in your bed room but it works a treat if it’s in a shed or you grow outdoors. Your girls will enjoy it.

  16. Dan G on May 31, 2022 at 9:54 pm

Im curious of your opinion on complete nutes like dyna-gro. I personally really like that they add all the nutrients needed, including micro nutrients, in one bottle for vegetative and one for bloom.

  17. MJ Wallace on May 31, 2022 at 9:54 pm

I personally use banana peel juice(water and peel soaked 36 hours) and egg shells for nutrient. This is my first time growing in my newly legalized state. I am looking forward to my results as I am growing Train wreck currently.

  18. Mack plyamale on May 31, 2022 at 9:56 pm

I just use the General Hydroponics trio for veg. and bloom and never have any problems. Once you starting mixings stuff up at
home your mix is no longer chemist certified. All these additives are like the doctor giving you pills. Less is more.

Any thoughts on Green planets dual fuel line-up? And do you think it’d be okay to mix a 2 part at a slightly different ratio than 1:1 if that’s what’s recommended? Through some calculations it seems dual fuels line-up is not very balanced and I could achieve a better balance by using a little more of the base part 2, but worried if anything would get locked out or fall out of solution.

Great vids man and super helpful content

This was sooo informative!!! Thank you so much. I tried fox farms nutes and am currently trying advanced nutrients. I picked up some gaia green all purpose and worm castings. I’m planning on doing a comparison between the 3 lol
    Thanks for the great info!!

Another excellent video Lex. I think all of us craft/hobby growers learn the hard way. I was using way too many products when I first started. Most of them do nothing. it’s easy to get sucked into the marketing hype for these products because we all want gigantic potent buds. However, I learned that less is more. Now I’m using base nutes, cal mag, and a bloom booster and that’s it. Flushing is key for me. I flush a week before flipping the lights and then at the end of week 6 or 7 of flower. Rock on man and keep up the great work.

thank you my friend, always a pleasure to watch your videos! I am a new grower and learned real fast how important proper PH is……I was wondering if you could recommend any PH test kit…the ones i’ve seen recommended seem really inconsistent, giving far more error than acceptable when compared with lab results, or giving completely different readings for 2 consecutive tests….any advice in this area would be well appreciated by you and your very knowledgeable followers…thanks again!

5 bottles for indoors? Haha come on now. You are wasting your time using soil with added nutrients. Use coco and you will need a 10 bottle recipe but you will have less issues and a higher yeild. This guy is lost in the olden days.

  37. spinthefastest on May 31, 2022 at 10:13 pm

I gave my plant full spectrum light. I now have cancer and the plant died. Not 100% sure but it may have been the x-rays microwaves and gamma rays? 🤷

  45. GreenMachineGlow on May 31, 2022 at 10:28 pm

Bat guano typically isn’t used anymore, especially in licensed grows that require a COA. This is because of high lead content in the manure. Sea bird guano is an alternative that won’t fail a lab test.

Hope you enjoyed this one…make sure you watch it all the way through before commenting! I didn’t think this relatively dry episode would end up at so many views, but I guess what’s useful plays. Oh and don’t leave without subbing!….If you’re looking for the links I referenced, you’ve scrolled down too far, those are in the description.
