Try some companion plants in pots around your garden. Some to deter specific pest or draw them to other plants. Some to draw in predatory insect to help protect your crop. You’re already doing living soil, make the garden of weeden a full living garden with a purpose. Plus you’ll get lots of herbs to use and flowers to look at. Just a thought bro.

You should move your bug catcher to the front of your house its way to close to your plats. They have to fly threw the garden just to get to your trap.

  6. Martin Pike on July 1, 2022 at 7:21 pm

I think bud worms come from those white moths

  7. Jesus Armendariz Jr on July 1, 2022 at 7:22 pm

Thanks for the info. Been doing that. Im glad im doing it right, i just had to hear it it from a pro.

  8. Jimmy Romero on July 1, 2022 at 7:23 pm

I have found that a sacrificial plant something with color reds and yellow flowers work wonders. I use the Mexican Torch. It’s like a sunflower easy to grow and like you was hit real hard by these caterpillars, once the blooms from the Mexican-torch started blooming they instantly were drawn to that blooming flower!

  9. Bigun Indaboat on July 1, 2022 at 7:23 pm

Spray OMRI BT from Monterey once a week. Good game bud worms. Why do you not remove the inner shit larf man?

  10. Bongz NotWarz on July 1, 2022 at 7:27 pm

What do you use to chunky the buds? Mine aren’t chunky at all 🙁

I have a small army of jumping spiders at work, hunting and killing most insects that dare try to infest my garden. They are a welcome guest. Didn’t have them the last few years. They live right in the canopy.

  13. Tuma420wc on July 1, 2022 at 7:36 pm

Caterpillars come out to walk around young as they hatch at night, mantis coccoons produce hundreds of babies, keeping coccoons cold till you need em.

  14. CaliOkieGrown Oklahoma on July 1, 2022 at 7:37 pm

You are absolutely right growmie! Twice a day every day!! My girlfriend thinks im obsessed with those little bastards!! I AM!!! Luckily the bugs have been minimal this year. The few worms i did find had been on the plant i just recently harvested because she flowered early. Manual hunting is definitely key to success! Thanks for all you do growmie!!

  15. Luis E. on July 1, 2022 at 7:38 pm

Growmie there’s gotta be something we can do other than manually hunt these darn things.

  16. Chinaski Bukowski on July 1, 2022 at 7:40 pm

Get yourself a couple bird feeders, the presence of birds is a good way to deter moths and flying insects in general from visiting your plants for a good portion of the day and evening. For night get a couple high quality bug zappers. And of course spray with Safer brand caterpillar killer. Doing those 3 things will really help to limit exposure to caterpillars.

holy..i haven’t seen your channel in a year..just checking ..I see your problem. Use mouse sticky paper around the base of the pot and around the trunk…Use thumb tacks to hold on the pot…and roll around the trunk. Done get on it

  20. Tony Cox on July 1, 2022 at 7:43 pm

Monterey BT solves that problem. Spray once a week. I’ve tried everything. I’ve got big ass plants also. Been there done that bro. Game changer.

  21. cool breeze on July 1, 2022 at 7:43 pm

Man my headband has been the one to attract aphids and every other pest cpuld imagine. My Brazilian Black has zero bugs and is directly beside the 707 so crazy some strains attract more pest

  22. Dan.K Trimminallday on July 1, 2022 at 7:46 pm

Dude….. I’m thinking those big white signs behind your plants just might be attractive to the said caterpillar 🍻🍻

  23. Pahpadirani on July 1, 2022 at 7:46 pm

Think you need to talk to mendo they have 1000s plants and don’t do what you do

  28. Aeh Phothisane on July 1, 2022 at 7:53 pm

What are your opinions on how to get tight buds? Is it genetics or can you provide nutrients to make them dense? What are you using during flowering stage?

  29. A. MEDICAL UNITED on July 1, 2022 at 7:54 pm

You need to use the nets i use. I have my entire garden netted off and iv got insanely huge monsters. I’ll be as big as mendo dope next year. The entire year they have been under nets, tons of praying mantis in there and a wasp nest.. I have a bug zapper I also run at night and zap tons of moths each night. If I can net my giant plants you can easily net yours.. the nets also have no affect on blocking sun, if anything they helped.. and I’m on east coast with less sun than you. Look up a product called Ecover Bug Netting Garden Net for Protecting Plants Vegetables Flowers Fruits. That is the stuff I got and its very strong stuff. This is my second season using them so they last, also protects the plants from hurricane winds. It’s pricy stuff but well worth it. I got a bunch of 5 foot wide x 50 foot long and secured them in a sheet with some wire. I looked and it says they are all sold out, prob due to the disaster usa has getting shipments

  30. Daniel King on July 1, 2022 at 7:54 pm

Had to harvest early due to this. I just didn’t have the time to go out and hunt for very long, and I’d never had a problem with caterpillars before so I didn’t even start checking until I started seeing random buds with rot on them. Sucks, but it is what it is and I’ll know to keep an eye out next year. I didn’t realize keeping them at bay required such vigilance, I had time to check for a few minutes before leaving for work, but that was it, your explanation is very helpful.

🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 🐛 the main thing is to find them and kill them ASAP!! what I do is I use a small pair of weed manicuring trimmers and close the tips together like your cutting something then carefully stick the tips into the buds and slowly release the trimmers so they slowly open up the buds and you can then peer inside like a ninja and see what going on inside. and yes sad but true you wont find them in little buds ITS ONLY THE BIG DANK JUICY BUDS so take em out with the quickness and don’t

  44. Zackfrm330 on July 1, 2022 at 8:07 pm

i heard you can put bugs on your plants that will fight off the other harmful ones, also should wear surgical gloves whenever your touching and handling your buds so you dont lose any trikes on your fingers
