I use a aquarium water heater and bottles of ice if temps getting high in my dwc:) works perfect
Even after pressure boiling and washing, the expanded clay has a tendency to hold onto bits of old roots. I’ve been experiencing this problem since I began reusing my old medium and its quite frustrating tbh.
How to prevent pythium root rot:
1-Water temperature 18-21 deg.C
2-Change water 1x per week
3-Remove dead leaves, clean everything: equipment, miximg buckets, ph meters, with Silver Bullet Mist
4-Do not stress plants (humidity, room temperature)
5-Use bio products with benificial bacteries
6-Use enzymes for dead root removal (dead root = food for pythium)

If it’s too much trouble for you to state the Fahrenheit equivalent then I have not time for you. Why do people only pick one and not state both?
We’ve seen a lot of Growers experiencing this specific problem this summer. People don’t realise the importance of healthy roots. Thank you for that video, hopefully it reaches more people so they can learn 🙂
