Have cuttings in water been changing it in and out Some have died off Some have stayed growing any ideas why no roots yet On week 2-3 now ..
How do you transplant once the roots grow ?
so it’s possible to merely place a stem into plain water?
Hello Dank, do you think there is an advantage to using a dark cup for the water cloning, and poking the cutting through a cover made with a sheet of dark plastic held on by a rubber band to shut out all light? Conventional wisdom is that roots do better in darkness, and since algae are less likely to grow in a darkened container, I got to wondering whether a careful exclusion of light would be an improvement over placing those cuttings in a clear glass in which the roots are exposed to light.
Fucking winter here now and suddenly my success rate has gone down to like 2/14
Step 1) trim off the suckers,
Step 2) trim off anyrhing I’d say 1/3 from the bottom up
Step 3) put it into a cup or jar (I prefer a mason jar)
Step 4) keep it a well lit spot. The plant needs to continue photosynthesis to grow new roots.
Step 5) in about a week or so go and pot it or plant it where ever you plant to grow!
Nice and simple in 5 easy steps.
Thank you!!!
Looks like the red light plays a huge roll in them roots development if you ask me. 😉

Used this exact plain water method at the behest of a long time friend of mine who’s been growing for 30 years. I took 4 cuttings and put them under a soft light. Within 24 hours, they all responded to the light as if they were still in their pots attached to the mother plant. Cool but freaky to see.
U didn’t tell is how . Just life story
That looks like a good method.
Wicked stuff bro 👌
What do you think roots quicker female or male?
cant hear nothing
Hello If I add rooting powder will it root faster?
Wart-her 😂 but questions
Whats the humidity in tent?
How long did it take to root?
How far is the light from plants give or take?
Did you cut at an angle?
In my opinion for this to work youll need humidity 70 or higher and the temp of the water has to be 60-80 it sounds high but ive realized it needs heat moisture air and light to combat any potential stress
This work like a charm for me no complication
What type of light would you recommend
Very interesting
nice tips thanks brother cheers
Does light not harm the roots
Great start!! ❤👍
Try taking your cuttings "after" sexing. Works for me.
Can’t hear, you bastard
I tried this 2nd day they look good and alive under a led grow light 💡 nothing major in my city it’s already getting sunny and hot I got these clones I’m saving for a greenhouse I wanna place in 25 gal pots
I’m gonna try this.
You got a good nack fir this. 👊💪👍
I like to put a little piece of tin foil with a few holes cut out on the top of the cups. I’m assuming by shielding the root zone from light, I’m promoting faster root growth but I’m probably just superstitious!
I’m going to use this method doing my first grow at week 6 veg took 2 cuttings hopefully they root in 2 weeks or so !
Nice! How much days until roots?
How many hours do you give them light?
og
man u gotta speak lounder, cant hear shit , sounds like ur just mumbling
that red cup probably grows them faster, i’ve seen them use red for 35% more yeild
That strange that you and those in the comments have had such great success with this method. I always take my rough cuts into plain water Solo cups with the strain name on the cup. I’ll have a big bouquet in each cup from which I pick my few "keepers" and I always just leave the remaining ones to use if one goes tits up in first couple days. So like 3-5 or more cups with fresh cuts in plain tap water(35ppm) every round for 10+ years and I can count on one hand the number of times I got actual roots in a cup of water. I get the bumps sometimes, but if I don’t aerate(stir vigorously using the stems) or change water regular they’ll mush out. My buddy would run airlines to numerous Mason jars and always had a mess with some roots. I’d actively manipulate light levels in an effort to encourage them as any grower would. Most times when I thought I saw roots it would be an algae/slime clinging to stem. And this is in the same space where the fellow cuts were rooting at or very close to 100% in my aerocloner
I’ve always wondered about this. Thanks for the knowledge.
speak up bud can hardly hear anything you say
A little tip when your cloning cut on a 45-degree angle then with a razor blade make some little strands going against the stem these will turn into roots much much try it out let me know😊
Cant hear a dammmm thing………!
I use a glass Mason jar filled with spring water. Trim the fan leaves a bit and place em straight into the water with no rooting powder or gels under fluorescent light. Been doing it like this for 27 years and works like a charm. People today make cannibis growing and cloning out to be some type of complicated process. When in fact its simple . Especially when methods are kept simple. Cannibis is an extremely resilient plant. In fact it’s more difficult to grow bountiful green peppers then cannabis. Cannibis is comparable to growing tomatoes in its simplicity.
Case in point I do selective harvesting. Cuz just like tomatoes and all fruiting plants blossoms are not all going to ripen at the same time and one dosen’t harvest all there tomatoes at one time. Try cloning in plain spring water and selective harvesting at least once. You’ll be glad you did. Your bottom buds will be denser and all of your top colas will be just the way you want then to be. The most difficult part of the entire process is getting your environmental conditions for the dry and cure to be 60 degrees and 60% humidity for optimal conditions. Keep it simple guys and girls.
Hi there! I’m about to have to do the same thing myself. I want to grow outdoors but i’ll have to sex them. What is your success rate getting them to show their sex doing this?
How deep do I put the stem in the nutrient water?
You transplant them straight into soil?
i have had my share of cloning problems from gels heating mats you name it …now i am just throwing the cuttings in water and letting them root …changing the water every few days …might try an air stone too…what you think ?
I took a cutting from the bottom of the plant which wasn’t getting enough light to my liking…it wilted within 15min of putting it in a cup of water? Is this normal? If not how can i fix/prevent this?
Cut most of the leaves off it will root faster instead of trying to grow taller
Mine always dry up or rot, good job

High levels of dissolved oxygen promote healthy root growth. … When there’s less oxygen in the water than there is in the plant, this reduces the permeability of roots to water, therefore reducing (even reversing) the absorption of nutrients.
So your success depends on how healthy the water is.
