Recognizing a Nitrogen Deficiency in Cannabis Plants

Recognizing a Nitrogen Deficiency in Cannabis Plants

Being able to recognize problems early is important when it comes to plant production. In this example nitrogen fertilizer ran a little short and the plants responded quickly so this videos hows what to look for. Nitrogen is a mobile nutrient and is quickly plant available so correction can be quickly seen in the plant once fertilizer is added. Thank you Professor DeBacco. Would a 5-1-1 Alaska fish fertilizer do the trick here?

Professor, thank you for your videos! Lots of nutrient issues are associated with ph, is it possible to grow in containers and NOT mess with ph? Between cleaning, calibrating and replacing a meter yearly, it’s the only thing I dislike about gardening. I just want ph to go away and have lush green girls

Always great to see new material and I like how you are taking it to the green house and actual plants! I would throw some worm castings for some fast N uptake, What is your go-to solution for Nitrogen deficiency while growing in soil?

  14. Circled_By_Wolves on September 27, 2022 at 4:59 pm

So how would you correct it if you’re doing hydro and can’t add any organic matter

  15. Brian Hoxworth on September 27, 2022 at 5:00 pm

As I understand it, blood meal is water insoluble nitrogen. It seems that it might take some time to break down.

On an indoor grow, can the a few of the lower/older leaves yellow due to lack of light? Had a few, but nothing like that.

    Awesome videos as usual 🤩
I have a question about organic soil nutrients that you can recommend for the veg to flower transition for an indoor grow? I appreciate any suggestions you have 🙏

How do you tell it’s not just the bottom leaves dying off from the plants natural growth?

  21. Old man on September 27, 2022 at 5:08 pm

As of this moment, you have 420 thumbs up. I don’t wanna mess with that! I’ll come back later after someone else messes it up and add another thumbs up! L O L.

The marijuana plant is extremely sensitive to too much nitrogen. It can become nitrogen poisoned pretty easy. I have no idea how anyone could not give the plant enough nitrogen. It takes almost none.

Great video 🙂 Is it possible for there to be signs of nitrogen deficiency in the upper green leaves? like slight drooping or not staying upright?

  28. Franjo Penezic on September 27, 2022 at 5:19 pm

    n is finicky

  29. igounfazed on September 27, 2022 at 5:26 pm

    Question:
If the nitrogen deficiency is addressed, is it better to:
    1. Add the nitrogen and keep the yellowed leaves.
    2. Add the nitrogen and remove the yellowed leaves?

How is best to stop or deal with foxtalling and odd shape growth of flowers that won’t stop producing new pistils? I think its due to heat, I can’t control temperature
