Root Rot in RDWC Hydroponic System – Cannabis Garden with Root Rot

Root Rot in RDWC Hydroponic System – Cannabis Garden with Root Rot

In this first video for the New Year, I discuss how I have developed a severe case of root rot in my hydroponic cannabis garden.

The following video I go through what I believe caused the problem and what I’m going to do going forward to make sure this pithium pathogen doesn’t attack my plants again.

Growing cannabis in a RDWC hydroponic system or any type of hydroponic system can be challenging.

But it also can be very rewarding!!

Dont use teas waste of time ! Use H202 every 4 days !

With any luck you can take a few clones from those girls before they die. It’s a setback but it was also a learning experience.
Will you be doing a deep clean on the system parts in order to clear out any remaining noxious microbes?

Teas just feed the bacteria ! I have the same Pythium problem and are trying CX Hydroponics Wilt Guard !
For the size of your totes i would fill em with coco for big healthy plants !

Really learned some new stuff here. Ever would’ve thought that washing your roots off would do this! Keep bringing the awesome content man!

I know I’m late to respond but hygrozyme would’ve broke those root rot down to sugar for your beneficial bacteria

Your really do much of effort. Have tried clean water with h2o2 for 24 hours?

You never want to use teas in dwc or rdwc…knew exactly what it was soon as you said that..also if you run a beneficial make sure to cleanse with a hypochorolous the day before your full changeout

Yo. Love your setups. I’m experiencing pathogens currently as well. Not fun. Haven’t posted on IG for a year lol. I’m a newb. But from my experiments and suggestions from other growers I’ve found that UC roots and microbial mass to be the best for a sterile run.
I’ve also tried using orca. 29% h202. Hygrozyme. I didn’t have luck with orca which was very disappointing. But like I said I’m a newb.

I never chance root rot,,run sterile 💯 and a chiller for a piece of mind, fast growth, no problems. Bennies in hydro is bad mix imo.

I pitty the fact that the music is so loud that i barely understand what you are saying…

  15. Shawn Edward on January 24, 2023 at 4:28 pm

Get a water chiller and ur problems are solved. The bacteria can’t grow in 65°

When iron exists along with certain kinds of bacteria, a smelly biofilm can form. To survive, the bacteria use the iron, leaving behind a reddish brown or yellow slime that can cause an offensive odor

    What’s the water temp?

  18. Captain Flu on January 24, 2023 at 4:39 pm

What is the temp of your res running at? Above 72 could also contribute to root rot. I would’ve tried to use some peroxide. The regular strength stuff from the store at 3tbs/gal. Get ALL the roots wet with it, not just what’s sitting in the water. Water temps above 70 I’d go ahead and run a sterile system instead of using microbes.
