My seedlings haven’t popped out of the soil yet after planting the germinated seeds 2 days ago. I don’t really know how to water them, should I have watered the soil before putting my seed in? Or do I just spray some water on top of it and wait?

I plant my seeds directly to soil now. I checked today to because i couldnt see anything come up yet on the 3rd day. I found it under the top layer of moist and it was 5 inches long already. I cant believe the root grew that much in the dryer soil under the wet top soil. It was going to pop out of the dirt a day later , usually takes 3 days, this one is going to take 4 days. To heck with a cup of water for germination or else the wet paper towel method. This way just takes 4 days to pop out of dirt.
