Texas lawmaker hoping to expand medical marijuana access
Legislation meant to expand the use of legal marijuana moves a step closer to law in Texas this week. A bill from Rep. Stephanie Klick, a Republican lawmaker from Fort Worth, got a unanimous vote Monday in the public health committee she chairs. She joined Good Day to talk about it going before the full house.

This is so weird. In Texas, almost everything is legal. You can own a tiger. You can buy your child an alcoholic beverage in a restaurant as long as the child is going to drink it in the presence of the parent. So why is THC so damn hard to legalize? I live in Florida and I have a medical marijuana card for anxiety, but in Texas I wouldn’t be able to get that. I just don’t get it. Come on Texas, wake the hell up already.
She Said no recreational weed๐ข, I hate republicans
Good for you woman๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐
Let us grow it what the hell
Won’t be anytime soon they bullshiting around Abbott and Patrick are totally against it
Come on Tx I’m tired of hiding from the cops
If you oppose legalization, NEWSFLASH! People YOU know use it, and if you don’t know that about them, and think they are good people otherwise…what does that say about you when People can’t even be themselves around you.
Do what California did and collect all of that tax money. If done right it could really benefit the state. (That’s literally the only thing you should take from Commifornia)
The day I can sit out side on the porch with my coffee, light a joint and wave good morning to a cop will be the day I have lived for my whole life.
I think I went to rhs with her..
I guess us as the people have to stand for what we want! if our leaders in the house don’t want it to vote them out or spread your voice!
This white woman is going to profit the most
That’s how white America works
Who ever is down for the cause will benefit from it
Canโt wait cause these prescription drugs are what have and continue to kill!
Give people what they want
โคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโคโค
Yes ! Come on TX!
Make it legal and get rid of property taxes
They need to legalize it already man it has a lot of benefits people getting in trouble for weed come on now thatโs dumb already maybe by next year it will be recreational
we just got constitutional carry in Texas, and got rid of just about all knife rules. But NO, to a drug who has never killed a person outright. Sure, we have lost a few being pure dumbasses while partaking and doing dumb things. Or falling to sleep while driving. Ordering a pizza when its time to go to bed… Give it time and it will come.
Freedom is always preferable to tyranny. St. Rep. Stephanie Klick should be ashamed of herself for not supporting recreational use. So people should be locked up in prison for years? What backwards nonsense.
Vote her out! If you support drug laws then you support drug cartels. Decrim ALL drugs!
She gives no reason why she doesnโt support recreational. Texas is a great state but needs to get with the program on weed, instead of locking people in cages for it.
In no way whatsoever as long as puritanical conservatives run the state
So the same people that been throwing people in prison for decades now want to be the KingPin in the Pot Cartel? Fuk them.
I want to be able to grow in my garden next to my tomatoes and peppers!
We want recreational weed in Texas dummies.
alcohol is far more harmful to the body than marijuana, blows my mind that alcohol is still legal but marijuana isn’t, these ancient relics need to broaden their view or we need to replace them with people who possess the ability to do so. google all the damage that alcohol does to the body vs marijuana. facts are facts *mic drop*
We want legal clean medicine not black market poison
Ive haven’t smoked weed since i was s teenager decades ago. But, ive got two herniated discs snd a mental plate and screws in my ankle from a terrible wreck. I take opioids for relief, but i worry sbout it long term. I would be willing to try it if its effective. I mean, i wouldn’t want to sit atound high all day. Hopefully, it could be effective without that.
Marijuana should have been legal before alcohol.
Electricity and hospitals are coming next!
The devil’s lettuce!๐
Finally
Bruh make Texas like California make it legal everywhere
Why haven’t these lawmakers come around to the idea that it simply isn’t the government’s business what people want to put in their bodies?
Politicanswilllegalisemarijuanabecauseofthehumongoustaxmoneyitbringsintothestate
The Texas government is owned by the Wall Street Pharmaceutical Industries and is not representative of the people of our State… The worst of the 50 States even at a time that the Federal Government has an extremely flawed bias towards protecting a monopolistic view that reeks of corruption about drug policies… The Drug Schedule imposed by unelected appointees in the DEA giving Marijuana a Class 1 Designation as a Drug with NO KNOWN Medical Use, a high probability for abuse and that it’s addictive has for decades seen scientific studies and medical research conclusively finding opposing facts to these policies…
Several States and Countries have for years now changed their laws allowing both medical treatments and recreational use with marijuana… TEXAS has itself passed legislation for medical marijuana treatments for Epilepsy, MS, Cancer, PTSD and low doses of THC for Chronic Pain… All while it seems just silly that the DEA and Texas fight a losing battle against Fentanyl that they seem to have no trouble classifying as a safer Class 2 Drug legally prescribed in all 50 States… Just legalizing Marijuana would put a huge dent in the demand for Fentanyl, it kills no one and in fact has been found less abused and addictive than Alcohol… No Offenses Intended, but it is sickening what our state house stands for these days!!! ๐
Greg Abbottโs too stupid to realize how beneficial legal marijuana would be.
The feds need to make it legal as long as it can be proven it was grown in America.
I have Diagnosed PTSD from Afghanistan, i have a hard time sleeping and when i do i wake up multiple times a night. Most nights i will sit up in my sleep until my wife wakes me back up to lay down. Marijuana allows me to sleep like a baby throughout the night feeling refreshed in the morning but there is a catch 22 and thats if you used drugs you cant legally have a firearm. So do i want to sleep better at night or lose my 2nd amendment rights…
Just make it recreational and medical ffs Texas
We need it legel stop messing around people needs to vote and Greg abbout needs to legel itโs better then alcohol and drugs that are killing people just make the crap legel and stop being dumb
We may see recreational before 2030 but I guarantee that wonโt happen if Gregg abbot gets re-elected. Heโs made it perfectly clear he doesnโt want to do it. I wonโt hold my breath though, yโall seem to love him for some reason.
She has money to the side maybe for her children to own Marijuana dispensers
In hopes to be the #1 dispenser in Texas
๐
I love her voice, Truly. I could listen to it all day
Thieves will now have the ability to rob these places since they can only take cash. Crooks will follow them to the banks. The cartels also need new players for human trafficking like they have in California.
