Texas Veterans Need Access to Medical Cannabis

Texas is home to 1.46 million veterans. Research suggests that cannabis can decrease PTSD symptoms, and several states include PTSD as a qualifying condition for medical cannabis programs.

Many veterans in Texas want a safer alternative to harmful prescription medicine, which can lead to addiction to narcotics and an alarming number of overdose deaths every year. Thousands of Texas veterans take cannabis to relieve the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), chronic pain, or other service-related injuries but are still not included in the Texas Compassionate Use Program.

Texas veterans have served their country honorably and deserve safe access to all therapeutic options available. Texas veterans also support their fellow Texans who live with these same debilitating illnesses and also need safe access to medical cannabis.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!! So much for sharing your stories. It is so important we as veterans get this information out to our legislators. I’m in tears watching this video and hearing my fellow brothers and sisters saying the same thing over and over. .5% THC is a joke and will help no one!! Please we are suffering we are dying and begging for help. Cannabis works, it is a miracle medicine. Texas needs to take care of our Veterans. This is life and death, living with PSTD is not living.
