The importance of Temperature when growing Cannabis!

Temperature Control is Vital for Healthy Cannabis Plants, so here’s a useful tip for you when it comes to the best temperature to grow your cannabis plants.

Cannabis thrives in the same temperature that we humans find optimum.

If your grow room feels a little too warm or a little too cold, then chances are that your plants will not grow as well as they could.

So, what is the best temperature to grow your plants?

The answer depends on what stage the growing is at.

For seeds to germinate, the temperature needs to be between 70 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

When growing your plants, the best temperature is at around 78 degrees Fahrenheit, which is roughly 26 degrees Celsius.

However, once the flowering stage has begun, it is usually beneficial to let the temperature drop at nighttime to around 64 degrees Fahrenheit, or 18 degrees Celsius.

If the temperature gets too warm, the leaves will begin to curl and cup, while during the flowering stage, too much heat will restrict bud growth.

If the temperature gets too warm, your plants are more susceptible to spider mites and powdery mildew, root rot and nutrient burn.

If the temperature drops to 60 degrees Fahrenheit or 15 degrees Celsius, this will begin to harm your plants, while getting down to near-freezing temperatures can kill them overnight.

Poor temperature control, especially regular changes in temperature, will see your plants’ leaves begin to turn purple, which will stop photosynthesis from taking place.

Your temperature can be controlled through a combination of lights, fans and ventilation, but the most important piece of equipment to have in your grow room is a combined thermometer and humidity gauge.

Get these two elements right and you are 75% of the way to growing healthy cannabis plants.

If I have my ballast on 250 but my temperature is 26c. Is that ok? Do I need to turn the ballast up or can I just leave it on 250.

FYI; Naturally purple leaves grow and photosynthesize just fine. However, the shock that triggers the stress hormone causing cannabis leaves to go purple damages the entire plant.

Very vague and misleading. Don’t even know where to start. Keep searching for the answers.
