The Intriguing History of Native Americans & Cannabis Use

The marijuana plant’s not picky about where it grows … but it never made it to America until the white man brought it with him. Can you imagine why it became one of the most beloved ingredients in the Native Americans’ peace pipe!

I have said to many times that a marajuiana should be passed around to the Democrats and Republicans. Just imagine the things that would get done. A divided house will never win.

  8. A on July 3, 2022 at 9:01 pm

Nah marijuana has been here. Also psychedelics as well. Many native cultures in the Americas including the Caribbean would use psychedelic plants for ceremonies and spiritual enlightenment

Corruption made it illegal, obviously huge interests earned accordingly by all involved, i.e. cigarette manufacturers and F.D.A. officers.

Ppl are seriously ignorant, how do you outlaw something that God has given us, it clearly states that he has given us ALL green and it is good . so why or what gives man the audacity to say it’s no good and is Satan’s lettuce. We let ppl rule us that don’t even believe in the God they preach to us . they also ask you to swear on the bible that they don’t follow themselves. And then we ask why other ppl hate us. 🤔

Aboriginal Americans… We Definitely had Weed before the arrival of Europeans. Aborigines of Americas had already established trades and had Ports, And Trade Routes Before European even thought of coming to these Shores. This is the New World for Europeans, Not For Real Americans, Aboriginal Americans. There were trades from Ohio to Brazil, Who Do You think Navigated the River Boats While the Europeans Observed ?… There Are over 300 Plants/Foods that were from Americas and Took Other Places To Feed the Needy, Even Today Americas Feeds the World

I like your video but the Indian hemp is a little bit off you thinking about the landrace associated with North America it was the only hemp the natives had access too. The Europeans had brought a wider variety Better seeds. (Thc) All hemp is in the cannabacae family check the genus and phylum

  33. Pelinal Whitestrake on July 3, 2022 at 9:30 pm

All these people saying that the natives had it. Did they? Yes but only later the plant is native *ONLY* to Central Asia I mean you can find it growing wild in the jungles of Vietnam I remember seeing it when I went deep into to jungle for the anniversary of my grandfather who fought in Vietnam but the plant brought over around the 1900s I find it weird that it was brought to North America in the 1500s

  34. Duardo Pérez on July 3, 2022 at 9:31 pm

i don’t trust this history coming from a white woman. let indigenous people tell their truth for themselves. they aren’t mythical creatures that exist in the collective imagination. they are real and they are among us, many who are scholars and story tellers.

  37. YesHempCBD on July 3, 2022 at 9:35 pm

What a misguided idiot this woman is. GARBAGE!

  38. G L on July 3, 2022 at 9:36 pm

When Europeans brought it over they were not smoking it but using it as medicine. It was in mexico were the marijuana transformed and people started smoking it and cultivating it to smoke. She making it sound Christopher colon was out here smoking big.

Nah, it’s funny how so many say cannabosm come from Asia, or that it didn’t grow in America until ‘the whait maan’ came to what they call America. Landraces are all over the globe, you can find herbs everywhere in the world, in Afganistan, Ecuador, etc literally everywhere. Every country has it’s own herbs as well growing wild then cultivated.

  43. Dark Veganista on July 3, 2022 at 9:47 pm

Sorry but as a black Indian, African American/Seminole bloodline. I will have to dispute this information. We used cannabis in our family for generations way before Europeans knew of it. It is funny how it grew in our homes and gardens and of how we knew all the health benefits and consumed it through smoke, teas/tinctures, and foods long before and even after it became "illegal". Sighs now that the "medical" community are now "proving" what we knew and said all along Europeans of course want to cash on and take credit for this plant. I’m not surprised. 🙄

  44. richard corbiere on July 3, 2022 at 9:49 pm

Bull Sweat, There was THC residue in pipes tested at the Heard Museum 1990.

  45. James A. Oliver on July 3, 2022 at 9:49 pm

So, the marijuana plant in America was none existent until Europe arrived? Not buying it.

Im 99 percent sure you have indian hemp backwards. I have always heard that cannabis grown for fiber in those days was reffered to as hemp and cannabis grown for medicine or recreation was known as indian hemp.
