The Issues with Thailand’s Legal Cannabis

The Issues with Thailand’s Legal Cannabis

In February 2019, Thailand became one of the first countries in Asia to legalize medical cannabis to treat epilepsy, nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy, multiple sclerosis and neuropathic pain.

‘Ganja’ or weed clinics at public hospitals give consultations to patients and prescribe either cannabis oil or Thai traditional medicine incorporating cannabis free of charge for patients.

But some patients in need of cannabis medication still turn away from this legal channel, and go underground for stronger doses to treat their condition.

reason why it was outlawed (when most of the world used it medicinal and recreational use for hundreds of years) was because the war on drugs, perpetrated by the west. Even Japan who has used it for centuries had to outlaw MJ because of the US and its war on drugs, via General MacArthur when he wrote the Japanese constitution. War on drugs – drugs won, countless lives lost and families ruined for what? The history of the outlaw of this plant was due to racist. This is what happens to colonized people, they have to abide by laws that were never apart of their society effectively being FORCED to adapt to western laws and culture and thats called freedom? Free the plant, free your mind.

Medicinal Cannabis in Thailand was legalized to enrich the elite such as Anutin himself. That’s why they made sure to make all the regulations only benefit themselves and while they wrote these regulations they, their familys and friends already were setting up their businesses.

Medicinal cannabis is extremely expensive in Thailand, and they are monopolizing it the same way they havd done with the alcohol and tobacco production, making sure the regular citizens can never threaten their monopoly nor financially benefit from it.

Thailand will obviously take pole position in South-East Asia’s destined to boom cannabis industry, while neighboring countries stymied by their regressive, outdated and failing drug policies will be losing out big time! Neighboring Asians will have new reason to flock to Thailand, not just for the you-know-whats…

Problem: it’s got "vice" in the brand name… Which is like calling it marihuana, marijuana, or my prefered tagword for the gov’s industrialized "shit": mari-caca. Which boils down to predatory economies making big money while persecuting the wrong targets as the hate speeches systematically miss the real causes of socio-toxic decay, like the most "gateway" drug of all: alcohol, for starters. So keeping that legal & advertised day or night is plain absurd and yet here we are, hopeful and quite PATIENT, waiting for humanity to rise and reverse a non-sensical stuation.

Its the same G in MSG that makes the soup taste good but does not give u a high.

Cannabis was made illegal in the USA because of a racist White government who saw mainly blacks and Latinos smoking weed. Unfortunately during the Vietnam War this racist law was exported to SE Asia, one reason was the US Army seeing so many of their GIs stoned on local weed, with many countries criminalizing cannabis like Thailand in 1979 but prior to that ganja (as it was locally known) was just another traditional herb.

When Thailand legalizes weed (and mushrooms) they will be one step closer to claiming their true power, before the globally reaching tentacles of the American DEA started bullying other countries into their draconian endless war. These things were part of Thai culture until America’s war on drugs….
