The TGA's Testing Of Medical Cannabis Products (5 Failed) – Explained By Rhys Cohen

In this video Rhys Cohen explains the TGA’s testing of medical cannabis products in September 2020. Rhys covers TGO93, what the TGA tested for, what products failed and the outcomes for patients and the industry.

Overview:
The Therapeutic Goods Administration, for the first time ever, published results of medical cannabis product testing under the TGO93 guidelines. 25 medical cannabis products were tested, 3 were no longer on shelves and therefore not tested and 5 failed the standards. The other 17 all passed. Some of the products had already been tested by a TGA approved laboratory, however different testing methods were used. This outcome raises questions for both industry and regulators as to what needs to be done to improve quality and testing standards for medical cannabis products.
