bro what about something like liquid karma with Fox farm?

I was raised on a farm, and I’ve been growing for 38 years. You are one of the few people that I trust because you never stop learning. I have never stopped learning, and I never will. That is the most important thing to become a good grower. I’ve spent most of my time breeding (regular and feminized) when it wasn’t cool. I use Happy Frog to start my plants. I use Ocean Forest for top-dressing and to incorporate it into my teas. Mixing it with Happy Frog, earthworm castings and organic nutes into your big pots after the initial transplant is also a good move. I’ve burned up some good genetics trying to use Ocean Forest from the hop. There are a few brands of Cal Mag that have iron, zinc, silica and other trace minerals that will keep your plants happy on the market now. I would defiantly keep experimenting until you find what is right for you. I appreciate the thoughts on the Strawberry Fields. I’ll have to add it to my arsenal.

It’s been a minute since this vid, any info on Happy Frog Cavern Culture????

Have you ever heard of plagron badmix. Organic soil. It’s a really good one did photo’s in a 12liter pot. Did not give it any more substances for the entire outdoor grow. Got some good buds from the 2 plants. 100 grams a plant.

  5. Ayerloom Marbles on May 7, 2023 at 1:02 pm

I like the happy frog for veg and half and half strawberry fields and oven forest with heavy worm castings. Well 25/25/50. Is my go to.

  6. joseph gandolfo on May 7, 2023 at 1:06 pm

    Is soil temperature important

  7. Michael Kelly on May 7, 2023 at 1:07 pm

I mix 50/50 with Black Gold and Ocean Forest with an added 3/4 cup perlite #3, also about tablespoon of Mosquito Bits to control the larva that are most likely in the soil…I Also start every seed in a peat pot and then after a week or two move into a 3 gallon grow bag…The peat pot goes right into the soil with no transfer shock…Works every time…

About to try some grow dots and recharge. I have all the fox farm soils.
I’m thinking about HF only with dots, but also wanted to do a 3 layer fox farm 3 gal airport Auto but still put the dots in all 3 layers.

    What do you think?

  9. Moss Free Farms on May 7, 2023 at 1:08 pm

I’ve been using Moonshine 64 out of Colorado with good results. Really only need additional nutrition during flower 🌹

How do u feel bout BRUT SOIL?

  11. Lane Hurt on May 7, 2023 at 1:11 pm

Would you recommend using the fox line nutrients if I’m growing outside and plan on mixing frog and ocean

  12. Brian Morris on May 7, 2023 at 1:11 pm

Idk if anyone else is familiar with ffs granular fertilizer called happy frog bulb food. It’s a 3-8-8. It contains myco and beneficial bacteria as well. Coupled with hf soil it’s my go-to for flower stage. I also amend with kelp meal, molasses, seabird guano when necessary, azomite, and gh floralicious plus throughout, gh rapid start during veg. I get too notch smoke for minimal effort. I also plant on top of crushed dried shrimp shells and use a bit of hardwood ash towards the end. Happy frog bulb food is the one thing I wouldn’t grow without though as it and the ff soils together give you so many myco and Benes.

What would be a good mix using of, sf and hf?

  17. Statuesque Creations on May 7, 2023 at 1:16 pm

Tbh I’ve only grown one plant that actually lived, and that one was in ocean forest last year. I honestly should have used nutrients. I only had it in ocean forest and watered it with rain water. I’m trying another plant again now, and using ocean forest and the trio of nutrients.

I’ve heard not to give nutrients to the plant for at least 5 waterings once in soil because there is already nutrients in the soil (also seeds already have enough nutrients for the plant so don’t need fed right off the bat once sprouted) and adding feed too soon will cause nutrient burn. I’m also going to try someone’s suggestion to use less than the recommended dosage that the trio says to use because of an overabundance of build up that can cause burn (and like you said because they want you to buy more). Is it possible a hot batch was made and sent out? Everyone I ask swears by Ocean Forest and has nothing but good things to say about it.

    Thank you. You’re awesome.

  19. Harley Baldwin on May 7, 2023 at 1:19 pm

I know this is an older video but I have to comment about the change in OF, because I notice it too so I did some looking into it. First of I noticed the PH of the ocean forest was no longer as consistent as it was say five years ago, over the run the PH would steadily drop into the low 5 and even the high 4’s. Peet Moss tends to do this over time, but FF had always buffered it to the point it was stable. So a few years ago FF made a new manufacturing facility on the east coast, NC I believe. It traditionally was in Norther CA. I believe this has caused a change in the sourcing of the ingredients. The Peet from eastern Canada is far more acidic and different then the peet they had out west. The facility on the east coast is a factory not a farm as well, they don’t put as much of the amendments in the mix either. In order to get it back to what it once was, you have to add a good amount of amendments to it. I still support there company though, it has been good to me for a very long time. I have moved on to Coco based growing in the last year or so and have to say the Cultivation Nation Coco/perlite mix is great. The cleanest Coco i have found. Thanks for your video’s brother. Cheers

Rice hulls !! My living soil loves em. I also get my own composted manure. Heavy alpha in it digested naturally lol. Buddy has a standard breed farm. Great stuff if ya. An find it.

  26. Louis Santiago on May 7, 2023 at 1:26 pm

  28. 86peppers on May 7, 2023 at 1:28 pm

Could it be that some strains are more sensitive than others? I grew 2 in summer of 2021 with OF + the ff trio with no probs. Also germinated pepper seeds directly in OF and while they were inside for 2 months without any other nutes and they all did great. Many other growers on my channel also claim no nute burn. I just wonder what the variables may be on why it works with some but potentially no others🤷🏻‍♂️

  29. Brian Morris on May 7, 2023 at 1:30 pm

I may be the only one who uses happy frog from start to finish as a base for my living soil mix, but as someone who can’t stop amending my soil by topdressing as the plants eat the soil and it sinks slowly, I think a low nute soil is a perfect base for a mix. My soil mix is happy frog, kelp meal, worm castings, hf bulb food(3/8/8) , plant success organic mycorrhizae (3/1/2), azomite, shrimp shells( whole and crushed), hardwood ashes, with occasional amendments of molasses, ashes, epsom, rapid start, floralicious plus, and that’s about it. The only other amendments I’ve tried are rabbit poo and dried urea from my ball pythons pee during veg. I’ve never had nute burn and the only pest or disease I’ve ever battled are fungus gnats.

  30. Tom Bower on May 7, 2023 at 1:30 pm

I went Happy Frog/ Ocean forest/planter mix + perlite this year. I didn’t use anything outside of a couple molasses worm casting tea’s in veg. This combo works well. I am half way through flower, and I had to raise my greenhouse 18" on stilts to accommodate the girls.

  31. City Slicka Dundee on May 7, 2023 at 1:32 pm

I made my own compost this spring , I’ve got gsc extreme from ilgm .
I took some clones off the best few plants . That compost was mixed with coco coir for 4 clones and the size of the buds on the clones are 2-4x the size of the seed . But the dispersement of the budding on the seeds is much higher and far more . I experimented this time since I haven’t grown in ten years . I trained the main branch and folded it down to help with size in the 5×5 tent . I mix kelp meal bat guano and another veg/fruiting dry mixture And sprinkled some epsom Salt for magnesium I wasn’t getting outta the nutrients . I gotta get my heat dialed or at least don’t grow in a garage in the summer next time and or get a bigger ac unit to cool down the area

  33. Jerry Lawrence on May 7, 2023 at 1:34 pm

I love fox farm ocean forest and fox farm coco Loco and do not mix them together that’s a no no too hot I use Walmart organic soil in the mix as well

  34. Brian Morris on May 7, 2023 at 1:35 pm

Hf is 35 bucks a bag now at my local shop, sf and of are the same. Promix is 2 or 3 times more soil for the money but I stick with ff and have no regrets. I may try the of and sf in the future for flowering since you recommend them. But I’ll have to slow down on the fertilizing if I do lol

  35. Tim Garcia on May 7, 2023 at 1:36 pm

    Tupur Royal Gold!

  36. David Anderson on May 7, 2023 at 1:37 pm

I just latched onto your site and enjoy it immensely. My question is I’ve filled up a large trashcan with agriculturally filtered water via a small inline element. I’m assuming now that the water is devoid of any nutrients? I’m PH’ ing the water every time and using Ocean Forest 100%. All six breeds have popped in OF and are doing well. Should I continue to use the filtered water after transplanting into five gallon containers of fresh OF as they vege and hit them with the liquid in the flowering stage? Thanks so much.

  37. Roberto Alvira on May 7, 2023 at 1:38 pm

Big Rootz, Amended with Subcools super soil charge pack, and Geo-flora Bloom, and only have to use R/O water!!!

  38. Grant McDougall on May 7, 2023 at 1:39 pm

You mixing soil in that room? What’s on your baseboards big bro? Lols 😆 😆 😆 interesting topic. I’ve only been growing a year and a half, I use ocean forest and have had no nute burn what so ever. I use lotus nutrients I love em there easy and a bonus is they don’t increase the PH level.

  42. Justin Ilardi on May 7, 2023 at 1:43 pm

I am a newbie and I’m bout to start growing outdoors and indoors can I put my seeds directly in foxfarm or can I add ff to my pot and make a gal size hole and add happy frog so I can start my seeds

  43. Jarret V5 on May 7, 2023 at 1:43 pm

Just grow organically with homemade compost and buy happy frog or whatever for your seedlings

  44. Justin B on May 7, 2023 at 1:45 pm

I used Fox Farm soil for 10 yrs now. It is defiantly hotter sometimes and sometimes not. There nutrients are trash. I’m done with fox farm nutrient line. I feel like the nutrient line was designed for happy frog and not ocean forrest. I had to use half or 1/3 of the recommended nutrients dose for not to burn. They didn’t really make a difference though, because I’ve done full grows with no nutrients with ocean forest and it was as good as adding nutrients.

  45. Bako Bikes on May 7, 2023 at 1:45 pm

If I go 50 50 ocean forst and happy frog for veg 5 gal containers….how big of a pot do I need to trans0lant into with strawberry fields if I don’t wanna add nutrients

  46. joseph underhile on May 7, 2023 at 1:46 pm

Buildasoil our of Colorado has some good soil.

  47. James Quinn on May 7, 2023 at 1:47 pm

I use ocean Forrest on the bottom half and happy frog on top mixed with some coco and perlite and I use flora flex full tilt line of nutes and it works great for me

  48. James Butterson on May 7, 2023 at 1:47 pm

Dude your so right! I just purchased a bag of FFOF first one in three years 😬 Man your right all my seeds are whack won’t get past the first leaf’s and they’re already curling up and stop growing I’ll never waist my money on that again. They have changed the mix Big Time 😢

  49. James on May 7, 2023 at 1:49 pm

I like ocean Forrest because you don’t really need nutes until flowering even then it’s still great I just get the kelp formula and the fox farm liquid plant food that has the bat shit in it and I’ve had two successful grows I stop using the bush doctor kelp when the first sighns of flowering start I continue to use the big bloom until the last two or three weeks before harvest then flush
