is there such thing as trimming too much ? because i have 3 plants that i let get lout of control with its fan leaves and what not and i trimmed it to the max like the size comparison is really bas im concerned that i perhaps hurt it a little too much? idk i just wanted bigger yields and i wanted to make sure there was enough light hitting the plants

Is there a way to tell when pruning needs to happen

  3. Bryan Stewart on May 27, 2022 at 9:13 am

Also I noticed you left your clippings in the pot. Is there a reason behind that? I always thought that would invite pests or mess with your ph

  4. Mark Garcia on May 27, 2022 at 9:14 am

Yes!!! I’m very new to growing but I spent months studying before going forward. I was able to see you video and predict what you were going to do and as I’m typing this I thought of knowledge is power quote…. Feels like the twilight zone

Can’t believe you just said that at the end…..

  5. joseph nestoryak on May 27, 2022 at 9:16 am

Can you cut back the side branches and have them sprout more, like when you top the plant?

Very unhappy looking plant. Looks over watered on a regular basis. Ch ph

  9. Liam Black on May 27, 2022 at 9:19 am

I allow about 3 – 5 inches of the stem to grow without sprouting. So it looks more like a tree. Works well to push it higher and stronger

Second year growing outside, learned I didn’t thin/trim the plants correctly. Hopefully this video will be a great help.

We used a *students plant* in this video, it’s a little over watered and has some light burn – *easy fixes* and the plant *will recover* .

In order to keep this video short, we stuck to the topic of *trimming, training, and pruning* . If you’d like to learn about lighting, watering, nutrients and more – check out our channel. Thanks for watching!

Can you propagate those big leaves that grow on one stem without extra leaves

  19. Aaron Bennett on May 27, 2022 at 9:29 am

Would you do this to outdoor plants as well?

  20. Naomi van den Bergh on May 27, 2022 at 9:30 am

Do you got an instagram so I can show you the way i trimmed my plant because idk if I did it right heheh

  21. Christopher Moltisanti on May 27, 2022 at 9:30 am

Before anything else, I would have repotted it out of that tiny one gallon pot. Those roots were way too crowded, unable to deliver enough nutes and water to make the plant perky.

  22. EmRomBa on May 27, 2022 at 9:31 am

This might be a dumb question but its my first time grwoing. What week of growth is this?

I was told to train my plants at the end of 4th week (autoflowers btw) but they were and are now (1 week later) waaaaaaaay smaller than this. They basically are one stem with many leaves and some colas starting to develop.

I am worried my plants may be growing too slowly, since the main stem is about 3-4mm thick and no other "branches" are yet developed, just big leaves and nodes at the bottom of them.

  23. Lips Of Wine on May 27, 2022 at 9:32 am

    yellooow…!
so is it okay if first true leaves turn yellow during preflower? because some people trim it off as i see.

  24. Justin Skurat on May 27, 2022 at 9:34 am

The clothes pin idea 💡 is great. A very inventive way of curbing the height of a plant. Very good tip for anyone with height restrictions growing indoors.

Right now, I’m attempting to fix almost 200 plants that were not topped. It was a fun afternoon to teach the new people we just hired though. I definitely enjoyed it. Just kinda tired now. Thanks for this

  29. Bryan Stewart on May 27, 2022 at 9:40 am

Just a quick question I noticed you did all that fimming and lst all in one shot. Is that safe for the plant or should you do it in moderation?

I was told to get a clean razor and cut parts of the stem to creat sap that’s filled with thc to promote more thc in the flowers

  38. Red_Day on May 27, 2022 at 9:56 am

If its just starting to bud is it to late to top? also if all my branches are all level with the top of the plant is there any reason to top? I heard topping plants releases a hormone or something that causes the branches to make topper buds. And I also watched a video of a guy who didn’t top and did low stress training next to a no stress train and a top and the plant that wasn’t topped and was low stressed trained produced 4 more ounces. Is low stress training only to help with light? and is topping used to keep your plant level? If my plant is 100% level is there any need for me to stress or top as its transitioning to bud? I’m running autoflowers also. Hopefully I hear a reply soon. Thanks

  49. I Was Never Here on May 27, 2022 at 10:05 am

"Work from the bottom, work my way towards the top" I’m in my 3rd grow, personal use. That’s how I do it. I let my plant get established, good roots and fans going then I go from there. You don’t want to start pruning before it even has a chance to show itself.
