Using Aeroponics to Clone Cannabis

Can be Purchased or Home Made
Plants do not care, as long as the basics are provided on a consistent basis for them.

Purchased systems offer a quick plug and play option but have increased up front costs.

EZ Clone is one of the Standards

The EZ clone is one of the industry standards and is an efficient aeroponic cloning machine and will be used for this example.

Key Step
You want to have all of the equipment set-up, functional, stabilized and tested before taking the actual cuttings.

With a system that has several parts it is possible for a small seemingly insignificant component to hold up the entire operation.

Focus on the Physical Parts First
Make sure you have everything that is needed.
Physically set everything up to check to make sure all the pieces are present and everything fits together.

Key items to check…
Pump
Filter
Foam disks
Spray nozzles
Drain plug

Check Supporting Equipment
Grow tent
Lights
Ventilation
Water Monitor
Nutrient solution
Water and Related Items
Water qualities (ppm, temperature, pH)
Water monitor
Water additives
Put it all together

Run everything as if there were plants
Allowing everything to run for a period of time is important to ensure everything is stable and with-in acceptable ranges.

Adding the Clone is last
Plant additions are the very last part, after everything else is checked and rechecked.

Goal is to minimize transition time and enter a propagative supporting environment will help reduce the chance of plant loss.

Watch to the end to see the entire process in action!

    Good video.
I’ve been cloning with aero for about 10 years.
I purchased my first aero cloner. Then I built 4 more.
The unit I purchased holds 40 clones. The 4 I built hold 21.
The 4 aero systems I built, that I grow with. Have 2, 21 site grow chambers.
That’s why I built my aero cloners with 21 grow sites only.

My operation is set up on a 2 week rotation. This means I harvest one of my systems ( 42 plants) every 2 weeks.
So this in turns mean I need 42 clones every 2 weeks.
The balance of the clones I grow I sell. I sell hundreds of clones a month.
I call them bare root clones.
And people love them cause they can be grown anyway you want.
    With hydro or in soil.

I have a 100 percent success rate. And all I use is plain tap water. Nothing else.
I start getting roots in 5 days. And in 10 days they ALL have roots.

The only secret to having success with aero cloning is keeping your solution or water at the correct temperature.
    That’s it.
You don’t need any of that gel or any kind of nutes in your water.
All that is is a waste of money. And adds to the cost of your finished product.

The only reason I started growing with aeroponics is because it’s the cheapest way and the only way I could make a profit growing cannabis.
Growing in soil I couldn’t even come close to making a profit.
Due to the cost of electricity and LABOR.

Anyway I thought I’d throw this out there.
    Good luck everyone.

Tip: scrape the skin off one side of the bottom inch before dipping promotes roots to sprout easier

    Hey professor!
You mentioned you are shooting for 730ppm…of what? 🙂
I’m leaning towards it being dissolved clone gel. However, knowing your videos, I almost expect you to have more in there than just that.
What primary ingredients does your water consist of?
Thanks ahead of time for the clarification!

Idk if ur gunna get good clones when ur mother plant is having a major magnesium deficiency..!!! Ive noticed even just a lil bit of it and most clones wont make it but if thry r green and looking hapoy ill get 100 percentt rooting all the way around…

What light spectrum should we be at for clones?

  9. Spfd Citizen on May 19, 2022 at 8:50 pm

Why do you dip the cutting into clonex gel if the reservoir already has clonex in it? Is there something in the gel that is not in the the gallon nutrient solution?

  10. VamTshov on May 19, 2022 at 8:52 pm

Will the gel be wash off if the drips are constantly spay on?

  11. R Meth on May 19, 2022 at 9:06 pm

Love your videos. Dipping into cloning gel will deteriorate the cloning gel , best to put some in separate container for immediate use and keep rooting gel sterile

    Than you so 🙇‍♂️much

These units simply throw water at the stems which is more hydroponic than aeroponic.

I built a “super cloner”. It’s a EZ Cloner 16 site with a Nova Tec Coolworks Ice Probe and TEC-65 controller installed, as well as a Bluelab Guardian EC/PH/Temp monitor. I insulate the cloner reservoir in the summer to keep the temperature “pull down” effect. For nutrients I use Clonex cloning solution, GH Rapid Start, and of course Clear Rez for cleanliness, and cloner gel when making my cuts. Starting TDS is 350-500, ph @ 5.8., with a reservoir temp of 68-77F. Lighting is 2-18” Sunblaster LED’s. Roots in 3-5 days, transplantable in 7-14 depending on genetics and cut quality. 100% success rate since build. 🌱🌱🌱🌱

Top tip do not dip clone into clonex bottle unless you plan on tossing it afterwards you have contaminated it
