What about the amount of electricity consumed? Even if solar or other renewal sources for electricity are used, installing one is expensive.

    how is nutrients added?

  4. Anne Paschke on September 10, 2023 at 8:59 pm

Why not cut off the plant and return the roots to grow again?

  5. Noah A on September 10, 2023 at 9:00 pm

I feel like most of the plastics I have seen break down outside in the sun. What stops the plants from taking up the plastics and byproducts? Have you tested for this with devices that have been outside for a long time?

If you are uprooting crops entirely, how do you propagate new ones?

  9. blipblip88 on September 10, 2023 at 9:04 pm

If the substrate is water, it has to be pumped up to the top with electricity and it has to be fortified heavily with chemical fertilizer. The whole thing is plastic, but the yield is impressive.

  16. Melimelo04 on September 10, 2023 at 9:07 pm

I would love to know honestly what is the cumulative cost of water bills and the nutritious liquid you have to buy to grow your vertical farm.
Can you please tell us this?
It seems to me very expensive needing more externalities (liquid nutrient instead of living soil) + growing clips + net pods without even considering the plastic towers investment.

  17. KAVITHA on September 10, 2023 at 9:07 pm

    WHAT NUTRIENT?

  39. Stateofsociety on September 10, 2023 at 9:44 pm

    ❤❤❤

  40. D M on September 10, 2023 at 9:45 pm

I read per tower only 3 to 5 gallons is needed to fill it and operate it with a water pump.
I have always wanted to get away from all the pesticides and find a way to better grow produce without too much cost. Granted, this method is initially expensive but will pay for itself.
