Many years ago, a friend who’d visited Vancouver Island during shroom harvesting time said it looked like they were growing hippies out there.
I wonder though, are the freak-outs and long term bad trips associated with hallucinogens rarer than we were led to believe (in school drug ‘education’ sessions- we had a cop visit our school a couple of times) or are potential long term side effects being overlooked here?

I like the access, but not the commercial aspect. Weed was legalized, and plastic pollution has hit an all time high in Canada, when they could have used mason jars. Nope, 30 grams of plastic for 3.5 grams of weed, that is sick, stupid and criminal. Arrest folks for that, not taking drugs that compared to alcohol are a god send!

For everyone who is cautioning against the overuse or abuse of mushrooms…anyone who has done a significant dose of mushrooms knows this is not a "party drug" you get addicted to. After you use it, you are not begging or wanting more for a long time. This isn’t coke or heroin. You are like, WTF just happened to me? The risk of overuse of abuse is very, very low in comparison to fentanyl, opiates, coke, heroin, and meth. Totally different class of plant medicine here folks.

i see a lot of people commenting about how microdosing (or even one trip) helped with their depression and anxiety. that’s awesome. one time i read a study about people who have bipolar microdosing to manage symptoms. i highly do NOT. recommend. this is just my experience, but if i eat them at night and don’t take my bipolar medicine before i finally end up going to sleep, the next day i feel so depressed and completely disconnected from everything and everyone… the polar opposite of how i felt before. when i’m on them i always have a great time. you HAVE to be with good people, especially if you’re a little apprehensive. and if you have bipolar i’d just be cautious and probably don’t skip your medication… it doesn’t interact with them the way ssri.s can
This is crazy. I’m doing 6 years of supervised probation because of mushrooms and I went to jail for it for a while.
I think people need to just microdose. This opens up spiritual doors that cannot be shut again. I’m all for in small quantities, but I believe there are a lot of people messing with spiritual matters that they don’t understand.

Psilocybin mushrooms saved my life. It’s just amazing how they worked even better than antidepressants. I got rid of depression and anxiety. I’ve also noticed clearer thinking and improved creativity. If you’re struggling with mental health you should definitely give it a try.
