Months back we put out a video about Cannabis grow room temperature and humidity levels. We had some comments regarding VPD, which was something we were still dialing in ourselves so we wanted to wait to release it until we got our own VPD down.

So months later, here is Cannabis Lifestyle TV’s breakdown on what vapor pressure deficit is, how it affects your plants, and how you can control it to help increase overall production.

vpd is underrated that perfect balance of nutts in soil with the right temp and humidity will make it grow fast had a plant growing outdoor from seed for about a month it grow about 6 nodes and got stunted growth from the high heat outdoors so i put it inside with new soil, some nutts, a tent, 2 fans, and a pretty decent humidifier now in 2-3 days I got new growth coming in super healthy and fast top already grown leafs are restoring to normal color

Can anyone suggest a monitoring solution that doesn’t transmit electronic data wirelessly? Here in prohibition land Pulse seems a little risky. Even though the device won’t know I’m growing eh…. Orchids, yeah orchids thats it.

Suppose i just front up and buy one; i assume this bad boy needs to be plugged into sensors bought separately.

Im loving my infrared thermometer though; can’t recommend them enough.

water vapour in your plant? LOL
I think you mean water vapour at the surface of the leaves.
If humidity is too high the water cant evaporate off the surface of the leaves smothering your plant and respiration stops as a result of your plant not being able to breath.
If you have a condition where the air is too dry your plant will hyper respirate and as a result you will get a calcium overload and deficiencies of other nutrients, A situation that baffles most people and then they make it worse by believing its a nutrient issue when it is all climate related.
It is essential to monitor VPD! You should have a chart on your wall.

  12. FatBudz on May 15, 2022 at 7:15 pm

Never knew this but it always made sense to have negative pressure opposed to positive pressure. The way I see it, if we squeeze 30 people in a confined space, the air gets humid quick. Sucking out the humid air makes the environment more comfortable overall feels cooler. With that, we feel better because we can breath easier. Same with a plant.

can i just use a VPD chart and try to aim for the best combo of Temp and RH? also shouldn’t all VPD charts be the same? i’ve seen some with different numbers for the same temp + rh combo

AC INFINITIES new controler has a BT app that allows 100% control over your AC system provides app charts for:
    * Day/week/mo/yr *
    Tempature

    *VPD

    GREAT SYSTEM!
    GREAT RESULTS!

Hey guys as far as ac infinity cloud 9 for regulating temps and rh . And in regard to monitoring devices like the pulse “ as I saw referenced in a previous comment , In regards to transmitted data and how you recommended a vpn for the house “ would in y’all’s opinion think the ac infinity being only Bluetooth enabled when in premises of unit in tent would need a vpn / be traceable ?

Straight 🔥🔥🔥 gentlemen, that was definitely one of if not the most understandable videos on vpd I’ve seen, and keeping your grow spot in the green zone definitely shows improvements over staying at whatever ambient temps and humidity are, so great job guys getting this stuff to the masses in an easy to digest format 👍👍👍💪💪💪

I live in the desert and its dry AF ….. how does this apply? Do I need more humidity? I was thinking the Afgani strains should do well .

Great content guys ! I’m watching and learning a ton. Do you think its possible to use VPD for the drying process? To stay around .8 to 1 kPa? I can’t find and info so maybe just a stoner thought. Let me know what you think?

  40. Med Otaku on May 15, 2022 at 7:43 pm

VPD changes from light to dark (due to temps).

How do you dynamically adjust your humidity to follow the temp changes throughout the day?

Have TWO dehumidifiers in your tent and one that only kicks on at night or something?

During the daytime, during flower, this chart says that your RH should be in the 70s at 76 degrees F and around 45 RH at night with a temp of around 68. Having humidity that high during mid to late flower is risky, isn’t it? But the payoff is bigger flowers?

Seems to be tricky to setup without specialised equipment.

So my grow tent is at 86f with co2 supplementation, does this mean my RH should be at 70-66% for perfect VPD? Just keep the air moving strong hope for no mold ?

I didn’t know Jesus came in two 🙌 lmao you guys were sent straight from the heavens haha but nah for real ya deserve a lot , the average just wants to hide their tips and tricks so they can be the best growers in their neighborhood instead of all coming together and saving money growing , and have fun trading clones/seeds and pollen lol,One day …..

    Will a dehumidifier help ?

  46. Ryan Phillips on May 15, 2022 at 7:51 pm

Hey guys good video VPD is no joke. It’s a trifecta measurement of room temp, leaf surface temp and relative humidity. I tried to implement VPD in my grow but was unsuccessful. My leaf surface temp run very high due to intense led lighting. I"d needed to run my room temp and humidity very high as well to make the trifecta of VPD work. I didn’t feel comfortable with my room in the eighties and humidity at 70%. The plants didn’t respond well to the VPD either so I went back to 75 degrees and 55% humidity. Is it possible that VPD is a strain specific technique and won’t work on all strains? Anyway it was cool chatting with you guys at the store, let us all know if VPD works for you.
