My Uncle Chris was a medic in the army in the era of Vietnam. Said he smoked grass the first time, he was in the rice paddy thinking he was on a blow up mat, which he wasn’t in anymore, was so stoned couldn’t get his matt back, floating. In the middle of a fire fight. Good times
Awesome story! Also I like the Green screen background haha! You almost had me there. Or am I trippin? Lmao. I just notice the weird outline around your body in this video almost like you’re cropped out.
Great story. I’ve heard the “special” brand of “cigarettes” were branded Park Lane
My job is fairly dangerous, as I’m typically walking on steel beams 100+ feet up, or dangling off of a rope even higher up. There’s a couple guys I work with who I’d prefer that they be high. It honestly makes them better. As for me personally, although I do smoke, I NEVER get high at work. I get too paranoid🤷🏻
Hi
אל מארץ מצוציא תרופות, וגבר מבין אל ימאס בם.
The Lord hath created medicines out of the earth; and he that is sensible will not abhor them.
That was really cool video man thanks for posting it. 💚
Amazing insight! Thanks
Cannabis is medication✌💚🔥

Honestly if I had to choose a drunk or stoner I would pick stoner everytime if I was forced at hun point to ride in vehicle with someone under the influence!!!
Idk why channels like this don’t have more views
Godbless you brother and thank you for your service
Good story I have also been looking for searching for how soldiers got Chewing tobacco or snuff
Retired Air Force and the AF was full of stoners in the 70’s.
Thanks for the story!
I don’t really think weed was a problem in Vietnam. Heroin and all the other drugs were. In my opinion
Very confused because thought Vietnam was strick communist and drug charges could get long long long long jail time or death penalties please inform me more of there laws? Never mind you answered pretty good, you said it grew like weeds kinda like here in usa magic mushrooms grow natural, but just illegal to pick them for selling/consuming!
Here’s a video on a reporter buying Park Lane’s filled with weed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Dh1-71PWq8
Vietnamese are bad ass businessmen . I’m sure a lot of those kids made BANK for their families selling all that weed .
I did a year at an Air base in Thailand, you could buy it just about anywhere off-base. It always came on thin sticks and the buds or clumps were held to the sticks by a thin thread. The sticks were about 4 to 5 inches long, and you would get 10 sticks for $3 U.S. Some guys would break it down, chop it up and smoke it in a bamboo bong, roll it in papers, but we would mostly take 2 sets of papers and roll up both ends of the stick, the papers would overlap about an inch or so in the middle. We just left the thread on it when we rolled it and smoked that as well, we’d pull the stick out with our teeth, which would leave a nice air passage through the middle. It would be thicker than a cigarette, but not quite as thick as a cigar. And it was a lot more powerful than stateside weed. The stuff they sell now in the stores here in Colorado is really strong, much stronger than anything from the 60s & 70s. And there are at least 6 to 10 stores within about a 10 minute drive of my house.
🤘great story
Thank you for sharing your story, I really enjoyed it. I’m almost 60 and been smoking herb for over 40 years.
"the captain or maybe more than a Captain a Lieutenant’ What division of the cub scouts did you say that you were in BIG MIKE, hahaha
Every member of my detachment and other units never use any drugs or if u did you pay a serous price. Our cmdr was strict but fair. We were situated along the mekong as helicopter units.
I was with B Co 43rd Engineers Fort Benning Ga. The Company Commander was Capt. Jarvis.
Great stories, ramble on!
I was in the Air Force in the late 70’s to early 80’s and drug use was still a problem in the military. As time progressed, drug use dropped dramatically due to the zero tolerance policies.
nice video, I was in Long Bien in 1970-71, 12th Aviation Headquarters..
Happy 420 from your northern cousins, eh? Legal weed, the civilized thing. Come on up. Lets have a beer and a smoke. Take it easy.
Were I was at you buy at the weed and coke at fence surrounding the compound , I was part of MACV advisory team 8 same time bring girls in hole in fence
Retired Army , I got all the weed I want now ! Cool video !look forward to hearing about Thailand !
Aye a fellow Pennsylvania boy, thanks for the story.
I like this guy. He’s a man’s man and articulate. I enjoy the stories
Cool story
I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries myself on the entire drug culture of the Vietnam War as a whole. I don’t know of anybody personally who has used said substances over in Vietnam, but i know a slight bit about the use of drugs like heroin and dexadrine (the latter of which has been said to be given to GI’s to help with focus and aggression) over there. From what i understand, a lot of people just stuck with drinking and/or weed, but once the Army started cracking down on weed, there were people soon turning to heroin because of it being odorless in comparison to weed and practically doing a better job at "calming the nerves" so to speak.
Given the sheer stress and trauma that a lot of guys over there have seen, i completely understand why a lot of them wanted to smoke weed, which to be fair is a lot better for you in comparison to smoking H.
is it legal to bring 1 gram of thc vapes into vietnam airport?
Weed is awesome stuff I love it, it cured my insomnia and helps my depression and stopped my problematic drinking but smoking it in a warzone surrounded by weapons booby traps and explosives is frankly galactically stupid.
Personally, the mustache-smoothing guy was my favorite part….great vid and stories Mike! I’d wager some of those cats were sampling that Golden Triangle junk in addition to the herb…(SE Asia triangle, not downtown Pittsburgh 😉)
For me $2 a pack of repacked Kents. Its what made it durable for us,
Your stories are great thank you again ive always wished I could have my uncle tell me his stories
Great story man. Keep up the good work
I would drench my boonie hat with water n then shape it and it held it’s shape n still does today. I also have my camo helmet cover. We would get our weed outside the firebases at the dump or where we paid the Vietnamese to fill sandbags n stash the joints in plastic baggies n hide them in the sandbags never got found out. We got 10 rolled joints for $1 from the little girls who hung at the dump. A splendid time was had by all. Welcome Home Brothers
To make your green screen less obvious; try changing the lighting
