Happy Hydroponicing!
Hi Hoocho, I have built a NFT system on the same principles as yours using the puck system. I have a couple of question if you don’t mind. I have the system running and the roots on the plants keep getting a white slim like build up on them. I have tried to wash it off and also dosed the system with hydrogen peroxide a couple of times. I have also add an air stone to my tank (all this has done is created a lot of foam). Not sure if it is the nutrients I’m using (Liquid Power Feed from Bunnings) or i have an issue with the system itself. Your views would be much appreciated.
Good job keep it up…

I wanted to get a flood and drain but the clay balls are too fn pricey for chop and flip IBCs. I saw Kratky but the summer heat just killed it even when in shade and just getting angled light. Anyone know best temp to do Kratky as zero power and less moving parts sounds ideal! Always kept away from NFT as stories of blockages and not being able to more than lettuce was off putting, but after seeing some of your work has tempted me to try again. We all need those victory gardens at the moment where we can!
Gutter system , I have made up a rainwater gutter system using 62 litre round container with a 75mm wicking basket, cannot seem to get wicking moisture right to top , medium is 70% coir 30% permits, cheers David
Hi mate I’m new to this but I’m really loving your content and I’m In the process of building my way up to a full NFT system.
My question is and I’m not sure if you have covered this in any of your videos but how do you go with your reservoir temperatures in the cooler months?
Cheers mate
Heres a my aquaponic combination system 3 NFT, 3 DWC an 3 media bed 28kg tomatoes off one plant 17kg silver beet 24kg of varied lettuce 2kg peas https://youtu.be/ICjPOq5v4Oc
Hey bud I’m up in Darwin and are currently in the process of building a nft virtual garden inspired by yourself and other ideas form YouTube, I will send through a video and some pictures once it’s done bud, keep up the good work and love your stuff up don’t do it this way videos too🤣 so keep the coming
Does the NFT system need to run 24hrs a day? And have you tried cauliflower in the NFT?
I watched your video on your puck system during the weekend and immediately put it into place in my system! It’s great. I also liked your idea about the passionfruit. I have a passionfruit plant at the back of my greenhouse, I just need to figure out how to add it to my system. I had to transplant it recently when I built my green house a couple weeks ago during lockdown in NZ
I shut my hydroponic system down 3 months ago due to upgrade and over last week have restarted it with your puck idea in place. Great project for kids making pucks. Great Aussie idea. Keep up the great work!
I think the first one you featured is made of vinyl square posts. When I researched about vinyl it is not advisable as it not food safe. At any rate, i am implementing puck system to my hyrdoponic system.
"Good-On-Ya!"
How do I send em to you I got lots.
👌
I’m currently making an aeroponics system should have the model up in two weeks. The pump is going to take me a while. Location sunshine coast
