The way I see it, it’s still going to take some time for Japan to change its view on cannabis. For people who are curious about cannabis and watch this video, they might be misled with visual effects and think that’s part of being high.

Thanks to the author of the channel for this fascinating video! It is interesting to see how people live in other countries! It is very important to know foreign languages on such trips. I would like to recommend to all travelers a practical guide to learning foreign languages by Yuriy Ivantsiv " Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages". This book contains a lot of useful tips on how to learn a foreign language for tourists, students, entrepreneurs and anyone who needs a foreign language in life. There are a lot of good tips on how to solve problems with the language from beginner to advanced level of language learning. It turns out that the traveler only needs to know a few dialogues and you can easily travel around the world! You don’t have to spend a lot of time to fully learn a foreign language, you just need to learn what you can use when you travel. I wish everyone exciting travels!

I could only get halfway. Too much reading for being this stoned! The Japanise people are so brainwashed over and over again by the regime that holds the powers. This from a stolen run away Democracy. The world is nuts and corrupt.

  18. publiczar on October 22, 2023 at 11:50 pm

This japanese glass is beautiful! Too bad the country is so backwards when it comes to cannabis laws.

  19. rockinpenguin on October 22, 2023 at 11:53 pm

Haha, took me a minute or two until I notice it was a 360 video 😀
    Great video !

Now regarding canabis prohibiton throughout the world, you might read https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/bd/Jack_Herer_-_The_Emperor_Wears_No_Clothes.pdf
Basically, cannabis was concurrencing badly the textile and oil businesses, so it has been highly diabolized by the numerous lobbies behind those businesses since numerous decades up to a few years ago…
Cannabis is an incredibly ressourceful plant.

Beside from smoking it for recreative purpose, you can also make oil from its seeds that could potentially replace gasoil – Yes, a gasoil engine CAN run on vegetable oil, and cannabis seeds oil is a pretty good replacement, Ford was considering it… But Rockerfeller didn’t like that. Same for the stem : you can make textile out of it, replacing either cotton or any other oil-based synthetic textile, like nylon. DuPont nylon business didn’t like that, as much as Hearst, a big media owner, didn’t like the fact that you could make paper out of cannabis stem… compromising his recent acquisition of acres of timber he was planning to make paper out of.

And of course, it is much cheaper to produce than any of the other materials it is concurrencing.
Also, the era was coinciding with the end of the alcohol prohibition, so the first commissioner of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics of that time, Anslinger, had to find something to make illegal so he could run his government business…

You’ll understand now why they had so many reasons to get rid of it.

As for cannabis still being prohibited in Japan despite the change happening in the World right now, well it’s prety much the same as censored porn : if people want a change, they have to stand up for it. But it looks to me like Japanese people really don’t like, or want to change things. They seem to be more than any other communities I know, tied to their habits – which is a good… and a bad thing at the same time 🙂

I’m planning to move to Japan in the next few years and researching as much as possible, coming from a state in the u.s. where weed is legal and used by all manner of people including elderly, not just as medicinal but recreational as well, the culture has been ingrained in me since a small age and socially acceptable even among the classiest and professional of us, I think I’ll find it hard to give up if I move to Japan. I am a daily smoker, I smoke for my back pain and anxiety, but it hurts me that Japan is still very strict on usage 🙁 I don’t want to break the law and associate myself with miscreants just to get a hold of it in japan 🙁

I hope one day all drugs are legalized

  36. silversobe on October 23, 2023 at 12:11 am

With all the proven science backed health benefits of cannabis, I’m surprised Japan hasn’t embraced it yet.

  37. Peaked In College on October 23, 2023 at 12:13 am

If Japan can catch up culturally, they’ll find that their land(for a nation with few natural resources) is actually VERY suitable for growin cannabis and it could profit the country greatly domestically and through exports! Not to mention the benefits cannabis has in complementing their stressed work culture. They’re sitting on billions of dollars and more because their culture hasn’t come to grips with fully accepting or understanding it.

If you want an idea for how legalizing cannabis changes an economy and people, look at California and Colorado. They rake in soooo much money and people are generally happier because of the legalization and legitimization of cannabis.

  40. Unknown Frvr676 on October 23, 2023 at 12:14 am

In England people don’t look down on weed because we are all smoking it lol people from all races ! The only time people will be annoyed is when you smoke in there building or right infront of there houses and they don’t want there house smelling like weed . Drugs are a big part of British culture , white black or whatever lol if your born in England your definitely gonna be involved with drugs somehow
