What is the right water temp for hydro growing? How To control water temperature? How is temperature related to the capacity of water to hold oxygen? Find out today on Lex’s World! This is just a re-upload for youtube: the original date for this episode was November, 2013 in case anyone is confused by my comments about Portland in the beginning. High temp is a crop killer certain bacterias need warmer temps to grow and spread water coolers are the best solution to help with root rot and other bacteria issues 64-75 is eactly the range i keep all mine its sad when u see such a nice set up like this fail because of temperature alot of people wait untill they have issues like mites ect untill they make changes the best offence is a good defence dont just deal with a issue as it comes take the time and put in the work so the issue dont happen at all beaufifull grow he has here everything looks great besides the temp

Dude, you didn’t say shit about how to actually accomplish this and what you think is the best method, what a pointless video.

My question is that, will a strong air pump of 70 lpm in 6  five gallon buckets blowing 76 degree air into my water at that rate, will that warm my water up too quickly assuming I will only use water bottles hopefully not having to replace the frozen water bottles not more than once each 24 hours.  I don’t know if anyone will know the answer to this because most people don’t use that strong of a pump but I’ve heard get as much as as you can in DWC, on the other hand it seems like that might quickly warm the water up to room temperature too quickly.

I’m getting ready to try me first grow and I do understand about keeping light out of my reservoir, but I was just thinking that I have white buckets, but that shouldn’t matter right?

#TOMARS . Thank god my well water comes out cold. It may have been shocking my plants, but helped keep them alive this summer. Record heat.

Also if possible try to keep ur resivior out of the grow room away from your lighting expecially when using mh and hps they run hot if u cant run it outside the grow u can put panda plastic on the top of the resivior or something else that will reflect the light and heat not store it

How to stop the smell in your Reservoir

  22. jthepickle7 on May 14, 2022 at 12:25 am

The problem could be solved cheaply.  A four inch diameter pipe, routed to bring in fresh cold air . A small fan pulls  the air through the pipe.  The grow buckets are wrapped in plastic (around a wooden frame )with the end of the pipe inside.  Styrofoam sheet to cover with holes for the plants. Inside the plastic ‘room’ is a lot cooler – in winter it needs a thermos switch.

Another issue i see alot with new growers running hydro is light penetration they use clear tubing or white buckets items light can penetrate some bacterias and elgie need light to spawn if ur not sure if the buckets and tubing have light penetration go inside the bucket with a flashlite if u can see light penetrating thru then u need to make changes

hey Lex, what is the perfect temp and humidity (about where they should be) in a basement grow room that’s 10×9. my temp gets up to 95°and humidity is around 13-18.

Hi love the videos, very informative… When growing hydroponically, how far does the water reservoir have to be from the basket ?

  29. GAMING WITH BOWZEE on May 14, 2022 at 12:34 am

  30. Mathieu S on May 14, 2022 at 12:34 am

I just started my first hydro system and I completely overlooked the temperature factor and now it’s sitting at like 90° Fahrenheit and I’m like scrambling to try to get a system to cool down the water. super helpful video thank you!

HI LEX, YOUR CHANNEL IS AWESOME ! I’ve learned many things, here is something I have done for my RDWC grow, I’ve added a UV sterilization light to my reservoir it is on a timer, each day when the lights come on the UV lights come on for one hour then goes off, I figure as the water passes through the rdwc system at 700 gph it will help keep any bacteria under control if not totally eliminating it. That’s what I figure anyway, never saw any videos where someone thought of this idea, what do you think LEX ? Thanks Lex for your channel.
