Why Lice Are So Hard to Get Rid Of

Head lice are miniature parasites that live in human hair and feed off your blood. A full infestation takes no more than 2 weeks to happen. So how can you get head lice? And how to get rid of them? Although humankind has been fighting these parasites for thousands of years, it’s still quite difficult. These little beasts are really tenacious. The thing is that head lice have grown almost immune to any poisons we have at our disposal. So are there any surefire ways to defeat them? Actually, there are, and we’re gonna tell you about the most effective of them!

SUMMARY:
– All it takes to have yourself a good and healthy lice colony in your head is just one little louse. Lice lay about 5–10 nits (or eggs) a day, which hatch in about 7 days.
– Head lice are most often transmitted from person to person directly, when you touch someone else’s head with yours, or indirectly, when you share a hat or scarf with someone.
– It all starts with a nit that’s simply too small and clingy to be seen and disposed of. The parent louse lays it right at the root of a hair.
– They can hold their breath for 8 hours, so if you take a shower or bath, they’ll most certainly survive.
– By the way, there’s a common misconception that people who don’t wash their head regularly are more likely to get head lice. That’s totally false.
– While their life span is about 30 days on your head, it’s much smaller in your clothes: about 1–2 days at the most.
– If any one kid out of the group is already affected, the whole bunch of them will probably get the parasites too.
– The most effective treatments are those that simply suffocate the lice. There are different sprays, creams, and shampoos out there that block lice’s airways, preventing them from breathing.
– Whenever you use any treatment to get rid of head lice, use a fine-toothed comb 8 to 12 hours later. Even if the parasites don’t survive your attack, they won’t come off your head by themselves.

I always thought that maybe shaving your head would be much better.

Even if you continue to shave and scrub your head for a week would that not work?

I remember having lice when I was little. My mom would have me use the lice treatment shampoo but she didn’t see much progress. And you know what she did? She used RAID BUG SPRAY and spray it all over my scalp. I didn’t cry about it but I remember how much of a burning sensation it was. I hope to never encounter those f***ers again, lol.

Hey seriously doubt the point where you said that cleaning and healthy hygiene doesn’t always help prevent a head lice, and started questioning the science behind it. The overwhelming evidence has shown through science that not only is Head lice infestation something that comes about through transmutation, but is directly related to lack of healthy hygiene. So yes cleaning can prevent a head lice infestation, and note I said prevent I didn’t seek cure.

And Head lice are not a health problem there a hygiene problem, so using prescriptions to cure them is kind of silly when you can basically prevent them from even being in your hair by just washing your hair, and if you can’t prevent them from being in your hair from washing it then it may be a disability related issue and for that case there usually is anti-parasitical medication that is prescription that can stop them from growing in that case because in that case it is a health problem, so your statements is not factual.

By using vinegar when you do the final rince to your hair, helps nymphes to be removed ,because vinegar solves the “glue” that keeps them attached to the hair.

  45. @ccrpalex2456 on June 30, 2024 at 11:33 am

When I was a kid and got lice, my mom would use raid like spray we had in USSR. Put a back over top of my head. Make sure it’s sealed around skin. Then poke a hole, and spray it in there, you can feel those suckers crawling. After doing it twice or three times they would die. I thought I would lose my hair because of that by now. And my bold friends are jelly of my hair so it didn’t affect me.
