What is the wall thickness of the 3" pipe you are using? Mine doesn’t seem to be as easy to manipulate as the ones you have in the video. I got it done, but it was messy. 🙁

Anyone using 2 inch net cups – use 4 inch pvc down pipe for the main tower but make the slits at least 5cm wide and use 1.5 inch pipe tapered to a point at one end to make the holes in the slits. Worked for me. 2” net cups sit nicely in the holes. I made a 1.8 metre tall tower from a 4” wide downpipe and using the technique in this video for the holes for the net cups. Attach a 15mm or 20mm wide straight tube or pvc pipe to a mini submersible water fountain pump in a bucket or tub with a lid, cut 4” diameter hole in lid for tower to go through and put the finished tower system over the pump/tube sat in the bucket of water. Put a cap on the top of the tower or cover with plastic bag and elastic band at least. Switch pump on a timer if possible set to 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off and experiment.

This system would probably be more appropriate for non-edible since there would be a leaching of the plastic into any food that you would be growing and consuming.. The little black pots that you put your Pea Pebble or whatever media you are using is called a neti pot and can be bought online directly from China at the cheapest price ,or Alibaba. You will have to buy quantity through Alibaba. The best thing to do is buy local at a grow store to see if the system will work for you. you will absolutely need to have a food grade plastic so that you are not ingesting PVC which can cause respiratory problems among other things. This system can be replicated with a larger five gallon bucket that is food grade and you can obtain the buckets for free from a local grocery store that uses them with pre-made frosting with shortening and such from the bakeries as well as BBQ sauces at a BBQ place and still melt the ports the same way in the food grade buckets. You can put about 12 ports per bucket and you’ll be using a food-grade bucket with no PVC leaching into your food common good luck have fun be creative

Hi …good job man…i ‘ Ve do It but i have a problem…. water come out from the holes …but i don t know why 😃

  44. Robert Williams on May 24, 2022 at 8:10 am

Your system is the best I have seen of getting the pots to the inside of the large pipe so make sure water hits all the pots. Ingenious method of using the pipe to make the bend. Why both spend money on pvc y joints when this works better and gets the pods inside.
