make your own vermicompost with leaves and food waste. You will divert a lot of organic matter from the landfill. You do eat dont you????

  15. Earth Man Living Soil on May 29, 2022 at 10:00 am

Kelp meal is awesome won’t burn Also alfalfa meal is a wonderful amendment to. But the most important part of organic soil is the life

  16. Rein Gauci on May 29, 2022 at 10:01 am

can you use this mix for autos?

  17. Rob K on May 29, 2022 at 10:04 am

Working on my third cycle of indoor oranic here. Fishbone meal is a problem (it reeks).
Does regular bone meal reek as well, or is it manageable? I’ve switched to malted barley in lieu of crab meal as chitinaise is a byproduct of it’s breakdown. Less reek, more enzyme. 👍
I find fish/shell organics to be overpowering in our basement and the fan/filter is vented outside too!!

  21. wtfAndy on May 29, 2022 at 10:06 am

Do you have to let it brew for months? I want to grow at the end of next month and thats when I will have all my prodcuts for the soil

  22. Leo Dupuy on May 29, 2022 at 10:09 am

Hi! looking to start my own grow in organic soil. I plan on using a fabric pot with organic soil and placing it in a tray to bottom water once the roots have grown down far enough and are able to supply themselves with needed hydration.

I see you are re-amending your old soil. If i’m starting from new should I consider the soil from your old pots to just be equivalent to any high quality store bought soil? I’m not sure how to start if you haven’t got old live soil sitting around to re-amend. I also saw you mentioned the live soil is too hot for seedlings. I watched a video where somebody placed their seed inside of worm castings and allowed the roots to grow out of that medium and into the live soil around it.

  23. CK Her on May 29, 2022 at 10:10 am

Do you ph your water when watering with this living soil?

  24. Mr K on May 29, 2022 at 10:11 am

You can speed up composting time to 1 month by adding sugars – molasses, or make your own kombucha from plant parts, sugar and let it ferment. Also adding grain flakes (oatmeal, etc.) adds calories for the microlife.

  44. Captain Hindsight on May 29, 2022 at 10:32 am

Do you seal the container airtight or does it need to breath ?

  45. Embo Harris on May 29, 2022 at 10:33 am

When u turn it every 3 days, do u also water it? Are those 5 gals your reusing or 7s?

  46. pinop iyatsi on May 29, 2022 at 10:33 am

Insect frass has low chitin content. Mostly insect poop, crusteacean meal probably has more chitin in it. Liked the video overall, though.

  47. Marcell Harris on May 29, 2022 at 10:34 am

Hey you mentioned at the end 3 cups per cubic feet but you were just using 1 on video. I love what your doing but just wanted to get clarity before I try. Thanks

  48. TheDayDreamer on May 29, 2022 at 10:34 am

Nice video, I like the diverse type of ammendents you used,,,2 questions,,,,can a mix like this be used both indoors and out? and can I use it right away without letting it sit? I you were going to add just a couple ammendments only, what would they be? TY for the vid
